"I recently had the pleasure of working with B&N Enterprises for some tree maintenance and removal work at my property. From the get-go, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. I was connected with Nick, who was my contact person throughout the project. Nick was quick, friendly, and very professional in his responses, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. The team provided a quote promptly and managed to schedule and complete the job much quicker than I had anticipated. The pricing was very fair, presenting great value for the quality of work provided. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome and the efficiency with which the job was done. The scope of work included trimming two trees to ensure uniformity with others in my neighborhood and on my neighbor's property, which they executed perfectly. They also removed a dying pine tree and took care of grinding the stump, leaving the area neat and tidy. The clean-up was done quickly and thoroughly once the job was completed, which I greatly appreciated. The expertise and professionalism displayed by B&N Enterprises are commendable. I would not hesitate to hire them again for any future projects and highly recommend their services to anyone in need of tree care or removal services. The peace of mind knowing the job will be done right and with care is priceless. A well-deserved 5-star rating for Nick and the entire B&N Enterprises team!"

"Warren and his crews cut down several trees for us in summer 2024. They worked in the hottest part of the summer and did a great job. They did the work quickly and cleaned up well. I will definitely hire again."

"Jason did an excellent job from the beginning. He responded promptly, gave an accurate estimate, researched what needed to be done, got the necessary supplies, and got the job done. He was very personable and explained what and how he planned to remove the poison ivy, going above and beyond to ensure it was all removed, roots included. I'd highly recommend him."

"Very knowledgeable, proficient and fast. My yard was covered in brush, dead trees and had a ditch in the middle of it. I had my land cleared and graded. I originally hired him to do part of my yard and it turned out so well we had him do the whole thing. The junk was removed, unwanted trees were taken out and gave me a clean functional yard. William was also very helpful and willing to help when we accidentally burned down our tree house and he removed the debris, he also removed hidden trash the previous owners hid in brush and dirt including a small car. He works until the job is done at a very reasonable price and is very willing to accommodate your needs to get the job done. We plan to hire him for future projects and if your looking for quality he is the right one for the job."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Firewood tends to be cheaper during the spring and summer. When the demand for firewood is lower during these seasons, many firewood companies offer lower prices and added discounts. In addition, the supply of firewood is typically higher in these months, meaning the quality is typically higher as well.

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

Many species, especially when well-established, are not fans of transplantation. You’ll need to decide if you want to risk splashing the cash, understanding that transplantation isn’t always successful. Again, this is where hiring a pro is helpful, as they can give you all the essential info you need to ensure your tree stands a fighting chance.

Light-bark trees are most notorious for producing lots of sap when wounded. These varieties include maples, birches, poplars, dogwoods, magnolias, and elms, and they will bleed more when the trees are dormant. That’s why it’s a good idea to prune them in the summer months rather than waiting until winter.
