"Very honest , very fair , I had other contractors come in and tell me I needed a new sink and new counter top , he came in and said he could fix it, he reattached my sink to marble countertops , fixed the wood that was damaged inside and then realigned the countertops at the seam , it looks brand new . We are sure you have seen it - the common tile installation. And while the rough edges and off-center grout lines may have their place among the masses, they certainly have no place with us. That?s because we are, quite simply, obsessed with quality. Since 1997 we have specialized in installing tile and marble floors, including travertine, porcelain and mosaics, as well as custom showers, garden tubs, floor warming systems and backsplashes. Working with interior designers, custom builders and directly with the homeowner, Joe assures outstanding craftsmanship and full installation compliance from start to finish on your project.

Countertops and Backsplashes FAQs, answered by experts

Formica® is a brand name for the laminate countertops it produces. Laminate is the generic term for a countertop material made from layers of paper topped with an image layer, all compressed under high pressure to form a solid, easy-to-maintain surface. Other brands that produce laminate countertops include WilsonArt® and Arborite®.

When comparing Formica to other laminates, the choice often comes down to personal preference. Formica is a popular brand known for its durability and affordability. Due to its brand recognition, it may be slightly more expensive than generic laminate options, but the name often carries an expectation of a certain quality standard.

Caesarstone® offers both quartz and porcelain counters, which are types of engineered stone countertops. Generally, you can expect to pay $50 to $200 per square foot for quartz countertops. If you decide to go with Caesarstone® quartz counters, then you’ll pay $75 to $125 per square foot, which is in the mid-range of what most quartz manufacturers charge.

Additionally, Caesarstone® is typically less expensive than quartzite, which is a natural quartz countertop that costs $80 to $220 per square foot. Depending on the Caesarstone® countertop you choose, you may spend significantly more on quartzite counters.

Deciding between marble and granite for kitchen countertops depends on your personal priorities, budget, and style. Both materials have similar costs for material and installation.

Marble offers a luxurious aesthetic and timeless beauty, but it is more expensive and requires more maintenance. It is susceptible to staining and etching from acidic substances like coffee, wine, or tomato sauce if spills are not cleaned up quickly.

Granite is highly durable, heat-resistant, and easier to maintain, making it a practical choice for busy kitchens.

Both materials should be sealed to protect against damage, but they can still be vulnerable to stains if spills are left on the surface for too long.

You can save some money on countertops by going the DIY route, though it can be risky. Laminate is attractive for cost-conscious homeowners, as it can mimic natural materials like granite and wood. It’s also easy to install. Other inexpensive options include ceramic tile, porcelain tile, and butcher block. For serious savings, skip a full replacement and refinish the pre-existing countertop.

Yes, many services include the removal and disposal of old countertops. Confirm with your installer.
