"Got our dryer vent cleaned out. I did not realize that every dryer vent should be cleaned out at least once in a while. Ours was fully plugged and the dryer smelled like something was burning. First I thought I needed an appliance repair company, but they don't clean out the vents. They suggested a plumber, but they don't do this either. I finally found Pure Air and they repaired part of the hose where it was shredded and completely cleaned out the entire system. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you don't know when the last time you had your dryer vent cleaned, call them ASAP. It could save you from having a fire."

We live in an old brick house and Mr. Wright did a wonderful job cleaning air ducts and vents in the middle of this recent heat wave. Great work quality, great customer service and great value for the money!"

"We built our house in 2019 and used a different drywaller. He didn't prefill any of our corners. Within the year my house was separating, only in the winter. Alex came and fixed our entire home. Everywhere that was lifting he took the time and did the work correctly. Since he fixed them, none have cracked or separated again. I would never use anyone but Alex in the future. He was dependable, knowledgeable and cleaned up after himself."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning, promptly repairing minor issues, ensuring proper drainage, and using rust-resistant coatings help prevent recurring damage.

Moss grows in dark areas of roofs, including in corners and gutters. If left alone, it can grow under roofing and cause permanent damage. Here’s how to remove moss from metal roofs

  • Soak the moss to soften it

  • Scrub it away with a soft-bristled brush, or pick it off with your hands (be sure to wear gloves)

  • Use a moss remover that’s compatible with metal roofing, following the manufacturer’s directions

  • Remove dead moss and rinse the roof thoroughly

  • Prevent future moss growth by trimming branches, cleaning gutters, and attaching zinc strips to moss-prone areas

Maintenance involves regular inspection of connections and cables, ensuring they are free from obstructions and functioning correctly to avoid ice buildup.

Yes, moss can be dangerous for your roof if left in place to grow without treatment. The moss soaks up and holds moisture. Having a constantly damp roof could lead to problems with rot for the parts of the roof that consist of wood. Additionally, a patch of thick moss may draw insects and birds, which could damage the roof. Thick moss could block the roof’s drainage system. Water then may back up after a rainstorm and cause further damage that could eventually lead to roof repair expenses or the cost of roof replacement.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.
