"Travis and his team at Van-Go Junk Removal arrived on time and very professional. They took the items out without any hesitation or re-estimating. In fact, they lowed the price when they saw the items were smaller. Really honestest group of people. As they were leaving, they even took my house trash with them without even me asking them too. Highly recommend them!"

"The project involved demolition and removal of an 8' x 10' wooden shed. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. They even helped me to move some of the contents to my garage. All debris was removed and the area was totally cleaned. A job well done!"

"We purchased the hard wood flooring and moldings and the crew removed the old wooden flooring and carpet. The crew was very professional and courteous and it was a pleasure dealing with Jason. The floor looks amazing! What I love the most is that at the end of each day they cleaned up before leaving. Great work! Would recommend this company to family and friends."

"They did a very good job of removing a refrigerator from our premises. The two gentlemen removed the doors to make it easier to move the refrigerator form the second floor to the front door exit. The refrigerator was removed in a quick and timely fashion. I highly recommend this company for big appliance/junk removal. Thank you. Edward."

"This team did EXCELLENT work. They arrived quickly, gave me a fair estimate & started the same day. They did yard clean up, grass cut and cleared a severly overgrown area. All clippings & shrubs were bagged & put on curb & sent me photos of work in progress & when finished. Yard was left clean and accessible. These people are pros & won't let you down. They did snow removal for us during the worst storms so I wanted to try them this spring. In the end, I paid more than their estimate because they came on short notice & did a job no one could fault. I recommend them HIGHLY. Worth every penny - you couldn't ask for better, more polite, more efficient service."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Embarking on a kitchen demolition comes with its share of risks to keep in mind. Think of potential encounters with asbestos, sharp objects, and power tools—not to mention the peril of structures wobbling or unexpected plumbing surprises. And, of course, you will be surrounded by dust and debris throughout the process. All of the above makes safety gear necessary, or you can consider hiring a qualified professional.

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.

You may see specialty products for sale to remove lead dust, such as D-Lead surface wipes. But you do not need to buy a special cleaner just for lead dust. A regular all-purpose cleaner, like 409 or something similar, is sufficient for cleanup. Just make sure to follow the manufacturer's directions when using it and to dilute with water.

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
