"I had my condo's balcony enclosure replaced with screens, double glass windows and doors, venetian blinds and flooring, Andrew Mulichak was the design consultant I worked with. He was terrific. He was thorough in explainig my options, helpful in filling out papers for my orders and for financing, He was fun to work with and I recommend calling him if you want a new sunroom or enclosure. I had some installation glitches but the company was good at fixing the problems. I love my new enclosure and I'm glad I hired Patio Enclosures."

"Javier and his crew did a beautiful job on regrouting our tile. They worked tirelessly and did a great job. They moved our furniture, which was a lot. I would have given a 5 but had one little hiccup but came and took of it. They were very easy to work with."

"They were cost effective, compared to other companies. Their work was on time and professionally done. The look of the window compared favorably with my original wood windows. I am happy with my decision and with their work."

"Daniel’s was lovely to work with. Their tree services exceeded my expectations. I was a little gun shy at the price but after seeing all that they did it was worth it. There was a language barrier that is the only reason not 5 stars. As I was not able to comfortably communicate my needs."

"This group of workers showed up every day early and worked til after 5pm. They completed the job on time and cleaned up after each day of work. They went above and beyond job and performed their job as requested. They saved my 2 trees that was along the fence border and did not harm them. I will hire these guys again when I am ready for another project. Oh, very polite as well. Great company and work performance."

Patios questions, answered by experts

With proper maintenance, the average life span of a screened-in porch is six to eight years for the screens themselves, but the foundation and structure can last for 50 to 100 years. To keep your screened-in porch in good shape, clean your porch screens regularly, patch holes, re-seal the wood as needed, and address any foundational issues right away.

Yes, but ensuring the deck has a solid foundation with adequate footings is critical before building, as the weight of a sunroom will put significant pressure on the structure below. Even if your deck is properly constructed, it may not be able to handle the extra weight. While some basic, lightweight, prefabricated sunrooms can sit on a deck with a strong existing foundation without additional supports, in many cases, the foundation and joists will need reinforcement. It is always best to have a structural engineer perform an inspection to evaluate the deck's quality and structural integrity. A professional can help you decide if reinforcement is sufficient or if it's better to tear down the deck and start over.

Yes, a sunroom will require a permit. You may just need a general construction permit for a screened-in porch or solarium. For a three-season room with electricity and a four-season room with electric, heating, and cooling, you’ll need additional permits for each of the utilities, as well as a roofing permit.

A sunroom offers an additional indoor space to rest, dine, or host guests, all while inviting in as much sun as possible. Either built like an enclosed porch or a fully insulated home extension, a sunroom features floor-to-ceiling windows or screens that create an open, bright design while still remaining protected from the elements and bugs.

When designing an attached greenhouse, several factors should be considered. These include the orientation and positioning of the greenhouse to maximize sunlight exposure, the structural integrity of the connection to the house, sufficient insulation to regulate temperature, proper ventilation for airflow, and adequate space for plants and pathways. If you’re restricted because of your budget, go with a simpler design to maximize the use of your money.
