"Hoover’s was the ONLY one to get back to me and rather quickly. I decided to go ahead and use them. Aaron and Marcos were very professional and polite. Cleaned my HVAC ducts, exhaust vents, and my dryer vent (which was really dirty btw) in a timely manner and put everything back on when they were done. They cleaned up after themselves and even covered my stuff with plastic as they went. They took off their shoes as they came in and put down towels on the corners of furniture and the walls to avoid damaging them. Not sure if they were the cheapest option but they were the best option in my opinion. I’d definitely use them again. Thank you Marshall for answering me back and Aaron and Marcos for taking care of my vents."

You might have heard that closing vents in unused rooms can help with energy efficiency, but it’s never a good idea to block air vents completely. Your home’s location also plays a central role. For example, if you live in climates with a lot of moisture, humidity, wind, dirt, or dust, you’ll likely need to have your coils cleaned more than once yearly. 

Most smoke odors will subside over time if you air out the materials holding onto them, but they often won’t completely go away on their own. If you’re dealing with stubborn smoke odors on furniture and building materials, begin by deep cleaning and deodorizing with baking soda or activated charcoal. You may need to repeat treatment. If that doesn’t work, hire a smoke damage restoration company for help.

A blockage in the ductwork may prevent air from flowing through the vent. If some rooms in your home are very hot or cold and another isn't, that can be a sign that a vent is blocked. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends using an EPA-registered disinfectant product to disinfect a house properly.
