"The service provided by D&R was excellent.  They quickly came out to the work site to provide an estimate after we first made contact and were able to beat all other bids.  They did an excellent job with all work; the building being remodeled is from 1914, and they were able to do a great job of blending contemporary materials in a way that matches the very old building.  Also, all work was finished a week ahead of schedule.   "

"They were very quick to come and give a quote and started the job within a week. Very easy to work with, did a great job for a great price. There was a lot of finessing to get all the curves and levels to match up with what was already hardscaped in the yard, not to mention having to do their job around all the obstacles (plants, posts, pond, etc). Crew was awesome! It looks great, we are very happy and would definitely recommend this company."

"I shopped numerous contractors for an estimate, not only for price but references, I physically looked at projects completed by SMRT that were simular to my project and found SMRT Construction most reasonably priced, and the quality of workmanship was what I was looking for. I received an estimate with a complete itemized break down of work to be completed on the project, (it was very detailed). Upon agreeing on price and terms of contract, it was explained that the roofing materials had to be ordered and would take about 4 weeks to be delivered, and work could not start untill materials were on site. Once materials were on site, work begain that following Monday as promised, and the entire project was completed before scheduled finish date. The project went very smooth, He makes everything look so easy, this was a very difficult job, based on height and how steep the pitch of roof, Michael made sure safety measures were always taken into consideration at all times. "Kudos" Great job.

Concrete Finishing questions, answered by experts

The cost to install stamped concrete averages about $12 per square foot, with a typical range of $8 to $28 per square foot. For example, a 12-by-12-foot patio costs around $1,730 on average. The final price depends on many factors, including the project's total square footage, the intricacy of the design, concrete thickness and grade, and local labor rates. Other variables that can influence the cost are site accessibility, the need for land preparation or grading, and whether you choose to add staining or sealing. More complex designs with curves, steps, or walls will increase labor and material costs. You can save money by pouring and stamping the concrete yourself. Keep in mind that resealing stamped concrete costs an average of $1.50 per square foot, plus labor.

Yes, you can pour new concrete over an existing concrete patio. This process, known as resurfacing, is a common repair method used by professionals. For the best results, ensure the old concrete surface is clean and free from debris. The new layer of concrete should be at least three to four inches thick and include reinforcement materials, such as fiberglass fibers or wire mesh, to prevent cracking and spalling. With proper technique, a resurfaced patio can last for 15 to 20 years.

You can put pavers over concrete following a similar procedure as above, but there are a few additional risks you need to be aware of—like stability, drainage, and the patio’s thickness. Once you lay a paver patio over concrete, it will be nearly impossible to treat any issues that your concrete may face, like cracks or water pooling. So while you may save some time and money on concrete removal and site prep, it may cost you more in the long run.

You can concrete can be done when it’s wet or dry. However, it’s safer when wet, as harmful dust and chemicals are present. Sanding it when dry is faster, but you’ll agitate more dust and chemicals, meaning you’ll need to be more careful.
