"Marco from Art Line Construction reached out within minutes of starting this project on HomeAdvisor. He was extremely courteous and offered to visit the work site the very next day at a time convenient to me. He showed up on the site, quickly assessed the need and even took back the part that he had to prep for the work to be done. He offered up to come back on a sunday and get the work done when i was available. Did the work absolutely fabulous. He is very courteous, freindly and has offered to come back if there is any issues. Good Job Marco, happy to have contracted you! thanks!"

"I hired Angel to rebuild the roof structure of my 12x15 metal patio gazebo, which was crushed in the freak snowstorm Oct. 2018 (I did not take the fabric canopy down in time for winter storage). It was a pretty tricky job, because the roof supports had to be recreated/welded up at the exact same angles as the original in order for the new canopy to fit properly. Angel came and took measurements and pre-fabbed most of it in his shop. He came back with his two sons, and they reinstalled the whole thing in a few hours, including priming/painting the raw steel tubing. I was just going to just knock the old structure down and buy a new one, but that would have been a major PITA, not to mention big bucks. (Replacement parts are not available and need to be fabricated from scratch) Anyway, I now have the whole thing back together and even better than new because Angel used a heavier, thicker gauge of steel tubing. Highly recommend Angel and his crew - fair price and excellent workmanship!"

Customers say: Quick response

"We contracted with VW Home Improvement to do our bathroom renovation. It was a complete tear down/rebuild and we couldn’t be happier that we chose VW, as the job they did was beyond our expectations. After meeting Vinny and talking to him about the process, we felt his calm, low-key approach to the project, along with his experience was exactly what we needed. We’re aware that no construction process is ever perfect, but this was as close to perfection as it gets. Sure, we had a delay one day, but Vinny made sure that time was made up and the project proceeded pretty much on schedule. As far as the quality of the work is concerned, that, too, was exceptional, and the communication between Vinny, his crew and us was beyond excellent. We never had to wait for a return call or text, and Vinny always called us with updates and information. I won’t hesitate to contract VW for any future projects and would recommend them to anyone."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Welders use a variety of methods in their trade. Different types of welding are better suited for different purposes and contexts. For example, stick welding is a versatile form suitable for most metals and alloys. The most common types of welding include:

  • Stick welding: $100–$1,000

  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Gas welding: $150 and up

  • Forge welding: $15–$25 per hour

To maintain custom or fabricated metal structures and extend their lifespan and appearance, perform regular cleaning, apply rust prevention treatments, and use protective coatings.

This all depends on the tools you have on hand and whether you’re trying to cut a straight line or shapes.

The best tool to use for straight lines is either a circular saw or table saw. When cutting shapes, a jigsaw will be the easiest and most precise tool to use.

Yes, you can cut up a box spring., but you’ll need to do so in layers. You can clear the fabric and fluff away to reveal the springs before removing them as well.

Welding is the process of using extreme heat—and, sometimes, pressure—to attach two pieces of metal. In contrast, metal fabrication is a more involved process that can include welding, sheet metal work, bending, and other forms of metal manipulation. Metal fabrication is a large-scale project that may or may not involve welding, while welding is more often a step in larger fabrication projects.
