"Outstanding work! Showed up early, they did a great job. Trimmed and shaped 3 trees and left my lawn in better shape than when they got here. I highly recommend this contractor. Excellent work!"

"Did a great job removing a dying/dead 60 year old oak tree. The tree was within 25 feet of the house (and overhanging the roof) and the crew exercised care.so as to avoid any damage to structures or surrounding landscaping. They even cut up the branches into a usable size (for use in my fireplace), and stacked the firewood for me."

"Great Customer Service. Contacted me immediately and managed to come out the following day. Was on time, professional, did a great job taking down the tree and grinding down the stump. Very friendly. We asked for a second quote to take down some trees in the spring, and again he was prompt with this response to my request. I will absolutely use them again."

"Atlantic tree experts gave us the best price out of several companies, and their customer service was the best we’ve experienced. They had a very difficult task of removing a 100ft+ oak tree that was technically split into two different trees and was very close to my home. They put down plywood on our lawn to ensure it wouldn’t leave divots, and they had to maneuver their crane carefully over power lines. They worked in tight quarters and pulled it off with ease. We will definitely be using them for future tree removal/trimming projects. Thank you!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Although it’s possible, heavy machinery like a crane is necessary for removing an entire tree stump and all. This procedure is extremely costly, time-consuming, and usually unnecessary, as there are plenty of convenient and affordable stump removal options.

Your best bet, if you want to be sure to remove a tree and its stump efficiently, is to speak with a professional. They’ll be able to walk you through the entire process.

Since summer is a busy time for tree companies, the cheapest time of year to remove a tree is during the winter. February and March are typically the prime time to hire a tree removal pro, and some homeowners living in colder climates can save around 20% off services. It depends on location and the company, but you can always shop around for the best deal.

Dutch elm disease can’t harm humans. In fact, according to Cal Fire, bark beetles aren’t even typically dangerous to trees unless that tree is already weakened. The problem comes when Dutch elm disease kills a tree. That tree is more at risk of falling and catching fire, which can pose a serious threat.

To maintain trees on a commercial property, perform regular pruning, monitor for diseases, and apply fertilization to promote healthy growth. It is also important to remove any hazardous branches to keep the trees healthy and prevent potential liability issues.

Burning a tree stump can be effective, but it comes with safety considerations and isn’t always best for every situation. It's essential to check local regulations and assess the safety risks involved. Stumps that are near wooden structures or other non-moveable flammable objects aren’t good candidates for burning due to the risk of the fire spreading. Alternatives like grinding or a DIY stump rotting project might be safer and quicker for getting the job done.
