"A and Z did wallpaper in my daughters room and did an amazing job. They were available the next day after I contacted them, brought all their own materials, and finished the job in under an hour. The wallpaper looks absolutely gorgeous you can’t see any seams and everything is beautiful!"

"We are very happy with the services provided by AAA Custom Painting. Andres was very friendly, professional and detail oriented. We had our shutters and garage doors repainted along with some additional exterior trim in Oct. 2016 and have been very happy with the results. Our 30+ year old garage doors look new again! We would recommend AAA to any of our friends and neighbors."

"I've used Peter many times before in my old home, so when I purchased a new condo (that needed some work), he was the 1st on my list. He provides exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner. I've haven't been disappointed in the quality of his work yet. All the updates to my new condo look great (especially the vanity which required plumbing modifications)! I plan on using him again for other work next year. I would (and have) recommend him to others."

"I couldn't have been more satisfied with the finished product! The wallpaper had been put on over twenty five years ago but the removal was not a problem for John and his helper. After removing the wallpaper, they washed down the walls thoroughly and applied a primer and final coat to the family room walls, ceiling, doors and baseboards - sanding and spackling wherever necessary.
The same can be said for the staircase and hallway walls and the hallway ceiling - again speckling where needed as well as repairing a very large section of the family room wall - the repair was so well done that you would never think there was a problem - he did a perfect job!
John and his helper were punctual, very neat with regards to covering my floors and furniture and very professional and courteous at all times. The job was done well within the time frame agreed upon.
I am extremely happy with the results and would recommend him to anyone who expects a good job and at, what I feel was a reasonable price for the extent of work I contracted him for!
I have other work regarding the exterior of my house that I will certainly contract John to do. Also, I will definitely recommend him to any of my friends/neighbors that are looking for a dependable, reliable painting contractor with reasonable prices.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

The color of the paint, its opacity, and the depth of the texture on the paper all affect how many coats of paint you need to apply to paintable wallpaper. You'll need at least two coats of paint to ensure even coverage. Don’t be surprised if you need to apply three coats if the embossing is very deep or if you use a dark color.

The pros of wallpaper include its durability and longer lifespan than paint, as well as its versatility. The durability can translate to lower long-term costs for upkeep and replacement, and the versatility means you have more options for customizing rooms in your home. Some downsides include that it’s difficult to remove, it’s not ideal for rooms or areas exposed to high moisture content or sun exposure, and it’s tricky to install. A professional wallpaper hanger can help mitigate these issues, though, by installing it properly and in areas suitable for wallpaper.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.

Spring and fall are the best seasons to apply wallpaper because excessively hot or cold temperatures can cause issues with the paste used to attach the paper to the wall. A professional wallpaper hanger can help you decide if your home is too hot, cold, humid, or dry for the wallpaper to stick properly.
