"From start to finish Garden State Paving were great to work with. They were the most responsive of all the contractors I contacted with the friendliest customer service, reasonable prices, and prompt & professional work. "Went well once Classical Pavers arrived to do the job. Very busy Company and do work at times some distance from their base for existing clients. Stairs were removed before they arrived so initially the base under the stairs wasn't wide enough. Thiago and his crew came back to make it right the day after Thanksgiving and even widened the patio another row of pavers as an extra to make up for wait. Totally satisfied."

"Mark the owner came to do the estimate. He supervised & worked through the whole job. This was a substantial parking lot and he completed the work quickly. Three things where performed: Paving of the full lot, another separate section sealed and parking lines painted. It was all done impeccably. I would recommend hiring Mark s paving knowing with full confidence that person would be very satisfied."

"He provided us with a very professional estimate and package of
information about his services and our options, and made a house call to
walk us through the proposal.  I was impressed with the service but we
ultimately used a different vendor for a lower price.

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. This permit costs between $50 and $300 in most cases. Most municipalities will also require a certified and insured contractor do the work relating to the apron and curb cut. You can contact your building department or ask your paving company if you need a permit. Your driveway professional will usually pull the permit for you.

The average cost to repair an asphalt driveway is around $2,459 to $2,500. However, prices can range from $100 for minor DIY crack filling to over $4,000 for more extensive professional work. Costs are often calculated per foot, with minor repairs costing $1 to $3 per linear foot and heavier damage like potholes, sinking, or crumbling costing $2 to $5 per linear foot. Patching smaller potholes can cost around $2 to $3 per square foot. The final price depends on the severity and extent of the damage, driveway design, local contractor rates, and whether sealing is included. For major repairs, it is recommended to hire a professional, and you may get a better deal by bundling repair and sealing services together.

Yes, recycled asphalt driveway costs can be substantially lower than new asphalt. With new asphalt costing between $90 and $190 per ton, this option can cost as much as 10 times more than laying down asphalt millings.

An example of permeable paving is a set of cinder blocks or natural stone pavers with room inside for natural materials, such as gravel, sand, or grass. You can also design these pavers with brick or plastic tiles.

In addition to these pavers, permeable pavement can be obtained by using a highly porous material, such as pervious concrete or pervious asphalt.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.
