Customers say: Terrific value

"The guys were a great team. They showed up on time, communicated well with each other, and cleaned up any mess they made. There was quite a gap of time between when they finished the porch and came back to finish the ceiling (a small part was due to electrical work) because they overbooked themselves, but they kept in contact with me about it and successfully completed the job. Only complaint at this point is I contacted them after the job was done about something I had that went missing, and they never returned my messages. Will be placing a phone call to try and remedy the situation."

With nearly 20 years of experience in the construction industry and a background in Mechanical Engineering Technology, I bring hands-on experience, technical problem-solving, and a strong attention to detail to every project. Based in New Hampshire, I serve homeowners throughout the area and am willing to travel for projects where my expertise can make a difference. My experience includes construction, repairs, installations, equipment maintenance, project coordination, and real estate, giving me a broad understanding of how homes and properties work as a whole. Most importantly, I believe in doing quality work, communicating honestly, and recommending only what a customer actually needs—my goal is to become the person you can trust to solve the problem, whether it's a small household project or ongoing property care

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

The average cost to reupholster a piece of furniture is around $720, with most projects falling in the $380 to $1,150 range. The final price can vary significantly based on several factors. These include the size and complexity of the furniture, the cost of the new fabric (which typically ranges from $50 to $70 per yard), and hourly labor rates (often $40 to $100 per hour). Additional factors that influence the price are the piece's current condition, its age, whether it needs other repairs, the number of pieces being reupholstered, and your geographic location.

When hiring an upholsterer, look for a pro with experience in your chair type, positive reviews, and a portfolio of completed projects. Ask about their process, timeline, warranty, and whether they are insured. Getting multiple quotes from reupholsterers in your area and checking their references can help ensure quality and fair pricing.

Yes, many custom builders offer finishing and upholstery options tailored to your style.

If your usually super soft couch feels crusty and rough after cleaning, it could be that you haven’t removed the cleaning product properly, you used too much, or you applied the wrong type. Always check the couch tags to select the right cleaning product, read application instructions carefully, and test on an inconspicuous corner. For fabrics such as microfiber, you can soften and fluff crusty fibers using a soft-bristled brush.

To safeguard your furniture and upholstered items, it's best to use plastic wrap or specially-made plastic sofa covers. However, you should avoid wrapping wooden furniture in plastic if you plan on storing it, as plastic can trap moisture and warp the wood, plus it may damage certain finishes. In either case, old blankets or moving blankets make excellent alternatives. For protecting delicate glass table tops and mirrors, bubble wrap is always a reliable choice.
