We are a small family owned and operated buisness. We offer free, prompt estimates. We require half down and final payment day of completion. Seniors over 60 could be eligable for a 10% discount .

"We couldn’t be happier with the services provided by this awesome family business. They did a great job grading an overgrown area of our yard where a new shed will go and repaired the driveway with gravel, topsoil and ledgepack. They were super efficient with an excavator and tractor, completing the job in one day. They also plow snow in the winter. Jeff and Jeff Jr. are personable, professional, and talented."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can put soil on top of existing grass to level small areas. This is helpful for filling in small divots or leveling out minor dips in your yard that collect rainwater. However, this isn’t a good option if you need to regrade your entire lawn. It’s better to have a professional excavate some of the dirt first so that the level of the lawn doesn’t rise too high.

The right depth depends on your intended use for the area. For instance, pea gravel for walkways and patios typically only needs to be about 2 to 3 inches deep. However, driveways and other areas with heavier loads may require 4 to 6 inches for better stability.

Many ways to landscape a steep slope on a budget exist. Avoiding expensive retaining wall construction is the first step. Consider creating a rocky slope with boulders or large stones, or think about planting perennials that return every year with a single investment. Transplanting small trees from elsewhere on your property is also possible and can help to stabilize steep slopes without purchasing new ones.

No one likes running out of materials during a project, so calculating the right amount of gravel needed for your driveway is an absolute must. Multiply your driveway’s length by width by the depth of the gravel (in feet). For gravel depth, convert to a decimal (i.e., 4 inches is 0.33 feet). This will give you the cubic feet of material that you need.

If you’re looking for cubic yards, divide that above number by 27.

Mulching any time of year can be beneficial, so you can choose based on your preference. Most homeowners avoid the winter and summer because of the uncomfortable temperatures, so spring and fall are often best. Try not to mulch right before heavy rainfall or a big storm is expected, as wind and runoff can move newly laid mulch around and make more work for you.
