"Karen showed up right on time, metaphorically rolled up her sleeves, and went to work on a house that has, in addition to some humans, two cats and a Collie. Shedding machines, basically. Hair, dust, dander, mildew, cat litter in places it had no business being, Karen handled it with aplomb and good humor. Her attention to detail is amazing. Nothing gets by her. She says what she does and she does what she says. Not only that, but she's fun to be around. She's able to be a raconteur whilst at the same time destroying the stains on your grout with a toothbrush. She spent nine hours getting my house, not just back to baseline clean, but to "I just moved in" clean. No stone was unturned, no dust bunny un-vacuumed, no surface undusted. I can't say enough how great her work is."

"I was very nervous about hiring a cleaning company - as I've never hired anyone to clean my house before.  The ladies called prior to coming over, as promised, and they were very professional.  They suggested the different services that they could provide and I was all for it!  They worked incredibly hard at making sure that everything was done right.  We are planning a move and they gave me a great start on my open house.  I will definitely be hiring them again, if needed.  Everything sparkles!

"They were excellent, I would highly recommend. Everyone was very professional and showed up right when they said they would. They were gentle and everything arrived intact. They had us on the road in no time."

Range Hoods questions, answered by experts

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

You should contact a local range hood installation professional to install your range hood and do the ductwork. Prices range from $50 to $100 per hour, with the total number of hours required varying based on the project complexity. Simple installations might take an hour or two, while more complicated ones can take four hours or more.

Typically 1-2 hours, factoring in ductwork and electrical connections.

Ensures safe electrical connections and proper venting, improving kitchen air quality.
