"This is my second time using Superb Painting. The crew was phenomenal with good attitudes and very precise painting abilities. They were very concerned about the house. They inspected their work constantly and decided whether another coat was needed or not. Superb Painting stresses attention to detail and making the current job the most important thing they’re doing or have done. Superb Painting is my go-to painters in Omaha. Fantastic experience!"

"Ross and his team did a great job painting the exterior of my house. My son had his house painted by Emerald Pro Painting last year, so they came highly recommended. When I was having trouble picking colors, Ross was more than happy to do a color consultation. When they started the job, they were early, they washed and prepped the house, and covered and masked everything that was not being painted; the attention to detail was amazing. The job was done in one day. I love the house color, love the trim color. I would highly recommend them! Ross and his team at Emerald Pro Painting would be my go to choice for any other painting job that I would have."

"They did a fabulous job for us. This father and son owned business were very considerate of our needs and did a wonderful service for us. I will be having them back to paint the interior of our house, and will be recommending them to family and friends. They returned to our home a few days after they completed the job to see if we were satisfied with their work. We definitely were!"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, a magic eraser can remove candle wax. You can use it to remove all the candle wax from start to finish. Another option is to remove all large clumps with a dull knife and then pull out your magic eraser to finish the job. However, while the results can be impressive, a magic eraser shouldn’t be used on all surfaces since it can potentially damage them. If you try this method, test a small, hidden spot first and proceed cautiously.

Yes, many professionals use non-toxic removers and dust-free sanding techniques.

If you recently splashed paint on the wrong area of a wooden object, remove it with a solvent or caustic paint stripper. Some paint that has yet to dry may be removable by hand with coarse sandpaper or a plastic scraper. Another trick for removing dried-on paint is rubbing a dab of nail polish remover on the paint to remove it, but avoid touching the bare wood surface.

The best and fastest way to remove paint from a deck often involves combining a chemical stripper with a pressure washer. Gel-based paint strippers are highly recommended because their thick consistency makes them less messy and easier to apply than liquid strippers. After applying the stripper to loosen the paint, you can use a pressure washer to efficiently wash away the residue. When using a pressure washer for this task, it's important to use a low pressure (under 1000 PSI) to avoid forcing too much moisture into the wood, which could lead to mildew or rot.

Yes, you can paint over old exterior paint, but success depends on the condition of the existing paint and proper surface preparation. If the previous coating is in good shape (not cracked, peeling, or flaky), you can paint over it with less prep work. However, for the most durable and professional-looking results, follow these key preparation steps:

  • Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the exterior to remove all dirt, grime, and mildew. A pressure washer can be very effective for this.

  • Scrape and Sand: If the old paint is peeling, cracked, or flaky, you must scrape off all loose paint. After scraping, sand the surface to create a smooth, even base for the new paint. Sanding is especially important for wood siding.

  • Apply Primer: Using a quality exterior primer is highly recommended. It ensures the new paint adheres properly, improves durability, and provides a uniform finish. If you are painting a lighter color over a dark one, a tinted primer will help cover the old color more effectively.

Some brands offer paint-and-primer-in-one products for convenience. Taking the time to prepare the surface properly will not only increase your home's curb appeal but also help protect your siding and extend its life.
