I gave him a check for $1600.00 to do the project with the balance being paid upon completion. The day before he was going to start, he asked if I was going to pick up the supplies. I stated that should be included in the estimate. I told him to pick up the supplies, because I don't know what is required. He told me it would be another $1000.00 for supplies. I requested a contract and a receipt for the supplies. He finally sent me a photo of the receipt and he had purchased 83 x 60 lb. bags of concrete, too much for the job I was having done. Additionally, he had two small boys with him when he was working. After thinking about the amount of concrete he wanted me to pay for and he previously told me he had a different man to do the concrete, I told him I didn't want him to do the concrete. I wanted the concrete to be done by a professional concrete company, not bagged concrete mixed on site. After some back and forth, I requested he pick up his things and leave. He requested an additional $500.00, which I refused to pay. He dumped the concrete he had removed in the middle of my driveway and told me he would take me to court. He continued to text he wanted an additional $500.00 or he would take me to court."
