"They were very, very nice and cleaned up any mess. The carpets looked great when they were finished. I would recommend them. They did quality work. I would absolutely use them again."
"It was an exceptional experience to work with this company. They provided carpet samples that were superior to others I looked at. The installation was seamless. I love my carpet and am very happy I did business with them. Iâ m about to carpet another area and Iâ m calling them for my quote."
"The first carpet install had problems......carpet tight weave and pad was ultra thick. I took photos...they booked a day. I got a plush carpet with the plush pad. Amazing...."
"I was pressed to have the carpet cleaned today. I called Acrosstime and he said he could be at my home within the hour and he kept his word. He did an excellent job of vanishing those awful stains and the carpet is so clean all over. Thank you for your expertise. respect, and professional manner."
"I called and left a message to inquire about services and I received a return phone call the same day. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was pleasant. I wanted to know how soon I could get them over, and they squeezed me in on a Friday (I believe I called on a Wednesday). They showed up as scheduled and did the whole house. This was the first time I have ever hired a carpet cleaning service. I thought when they showed up, they would give feedback and let us know if there were stains they couldn't remove or odors they were noticing and ask us if wanted to pay extra to remove. This was not the case. There were still multiple stains and it enhanced any odors that were already there. I mailed my check in for payment, because they did attempt to clean the carpets, which I don't think they have cashed yet. I called back a week later and left a message letting them know there were still stains and I wanted to see if they could come back and that I realized it would be an additional fee. I left a message on a Thursday at 4:55 p.m. I figured I would get a call back on Friday. Did not receive a return call. I called again and left another message on Saturday in case they happened to be open. It was the holiday weekend so I thought maybe I would receive a return call on Tuesday. Still no return call on Tuesday or Wednesday. So on Thursday I had to call another company. It's not my favorite thing to leave a poor review and I realize that there must have been some communication errors on my end, but I really would have appreciated a call back.I am now having to pay another company to redo the house. It's important to have clean carpets and an odor free house when it's on the market. "
Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts
Acclimating laminate flooring cannot be rushed. Laminate flooring needs at least 48 hours to acclimate properly to its new environment, and being patient during this time can make installation go smoother because you will not be dealing with boards that have expanded or contracted during the shipping process. You will also be less likely to damage the boards during installation.
Carpet is an effective natural insulator, so it will make a room slightly warmer than laminate. The material’s insulating properties also make carpeted rooms more efficient for temperature regulation.
The average cost to install new flooring is around $3,162, with a typical price range between $1,530 and $4,860. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay an average of $3 to $22, including installation. Several factors influence the total price, including the flooring material, project size, geographic location, and any special features. Material choice is a significant cost driver; vinyl plank, linoleum, and carpet are on the lower end ($3 to $7 per square foot), while stone, tile, and hardwood are more expensive, with hardwood reaching up to $22 per square foot. Prices can also vary by region, and installing flooring on stairs will add to the cost, typically ranging from $11 to $160 per step.
The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.
Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.
