Small jobs welcome

"Awesome work! We moved into an older home that was in desperate need of bathroom renovation. We tried a local company whose quote far exceeded our budget, and they didn't even try to work with us within our budget! I searched around and came across Action construction- not only was Ron very quick to follow up, but he was confident in assuring the work would be completed. Everything was done within the time line provided, and its beautiful!!!! I would definitely recommend Action Construction for your remodel needs."

"Hired to remove snow from my roof. Attention to detail and attitude was amazing considering they worked in -30 degree wind chill. Job was completed in a timely manner with excellent results. They even cleaned my driveway and sidewalk leading to my backyard as part of the project. Excellent work and I'd highly recommend Bagwells to anyone. We have another winter storm coming, so I'll be hiring them again. Outstanding!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Calcium hypochlorite, or cal-hypo, tends to be the best shock for an above ground pool. It is widely available, affordable, and powerful. Cal-hypo shock is typically 65% to 75% chlorine and is very effective at ridding a pool of bacteria or other contaminants.

There are some disadvantages to a salt water pool. Besides costing slightly more than chlorine pools, salt water pools require a lot of salt. It's also harder to find a professional with salt water pool experience to do minor maintenance and repairs. Salt water can also damage some materials, so you’ll need to use specific heating, fixtures, lighting, liners, and masonry when building a salt water pool.

An in-ground concrete pool will carry the highest price tag of all available types of pools, with architectural or freeform concrete pools found at the top end of the price range. Although the upfront costs for a concrete pool are high, these pools tend to be more durable than pools made from other materials and will last the longest.

Draining a pool with a garden hose can take between eight and 14 hours depending on the depth of your pool and whether you use a sump pump. Be sure to stay close to the pool during this time to ensure the structure of your pool remains unharmed and that the water drains properly.

In most cases, late May or early June are the most popular times to open a pool, depending on your location. It’s a good idea to open your pool when the outdoor temperature sits consistently above 65 to 70 degrees (F). At this point, algae will begin to flourish in your water, so opening the pool and adding the proper chemicals will avoid excessive pool algae growth.
