Almost immediately after I completed arrangements for the deal, Mike called me and set up a schedule for the tune up.  He provided a program for me to install on my computer that allowed him to access it remotely - with my permission.  This made everything go quickly when the tune up began and can be used in the future when I again need his services.  (I expect to need his expertise again as I intend to purchase another computer in the near future and will need help in setting it up properly right at the beginning.  A proper set up will likely avoid "glitches" in the future.)  In addition to fixing my computer problem, Mike gave me advise on how to improve my backup procedures and other helpful tips on routine computer maintenance.

By purchasing this deal on Angie's List, I have, at small expense, located a really competent computer service provider who took care of my immediate problem of a five-year-old computer needing a serious, expert cleanup - and I now plan to use his services in the future as needs arise. My computer issues can be solved remotely and at reasonable prices - without the need for me to purchase expensive contracts or search further for the appropriate expertise.  Mike exhibits an excellent combination of customer care/education and computer "savvy."  Not always found in one package!

"Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.

"First guys that came didn’t have the proper Mount- not their fault. Worked out for the best because I ended up getting a bigger tv after the recommendation of them due to the cathedral ceiling and I ended up paying less- appreciated their honesty and all worked out for the best!"

"I called and scheduled an appointment.  On the day of the appointment, the technician (Michael) showed up on time and was very professional.  He was able to connect the Xbox to the tv and showed me how to navigate the system so I could play with my son and utilize the parental control features.   I was a bit disappointed though in the length of time it took to install the Xbox.  It took the entire hour of the discounted rate.  Mike said the install of the Xbox was easy but a bit time consuming because of all the setup steps and security verifications.  We then moved to the desktop computer to upgrade the memory.  He completed that and gave the computer a complete diagnostic check.  He removed several viruses and also downloaded some useful anti-virus software.  This part of the service also took an hour.  Total cost was $210 including the discounted first hour.  The second hour was $135.
This is the second time I have used Geek Choice. Overall I find the technicians to be very professional and knowledgeable.  I think the price could be a bit cheaper but they are comparable with other computer service companies that I have used.

"Dave picked up computer since we weren't going to be home and gave us back a working computer. He cautioned me as to what I needed to do to prevent future trouble, he also installed a Malware cleaning program. He did excellent work and for a very reasonable price.
