"The owner was very helpful. He kept me posted as to when to expect them. They completed the job. They were respectful of my concerns. I prefer a job bid. Prices are a bit high in this part of the country, for a retired individual. This area had snow just before my job so It was a bit difficult to clean up the small debris. They are professionals."

Range Hoods questions, answered by experts

No, you can’t install just any microwave over your range. You have to get a specific type of microwave known as an over-the-range unit. These include venting and lighting features that you’ll need above your stovetop.

Although countertop units are more affordable, they won’t work for this type of installation. To avoid hazardous conditions in your kitchen, buy the right type of microwave for your needs.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

Regular cleaning of filters and checking ducting ensures effective operation.

Neglected maintenance can lead to odors, fire hazards, impaired airflow, and reduced range and hood operation efficiency.

By positioning ductwork for optimal airflow and reducing potential leaks.
