"Box & Dolly was AMAZING!!!! Mr. Gibbs and his team worked diligently (in the pouring rain) to get our move completed in a timely manner. They even helped us take our TV down and helped us take shelves off of the wall. The cherry on the cake was when Mr. Gibbs prayed over my new apartment prior to leaving. Overall they made my move so easy!"

Small jobs welcome

"He was readily available to move some furniture from upstairs to the downstairs. He hung a towel rack in one bathroom. He fixed my front door, stabilized my bedroom TV, and mounted two spice racks. He was polite, efficient, and extremely polite! I would definitely recommend his services and will call him again when I need more furniture moved and have other ‘handyman’ services!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use a dolly to move a treadmill, though you won't always need one. If your treadmill has wheels and you’re moving it to a different location on the same floor, you can likely skip the dolly. But if you’re moving it up a flight of stairs or to a new home, a dolly can help you move it more easily.

Yes, you can move a tiny house on skids, although it will be costly to do so frequently. Skids are essentially hefty timbers you can attach a chain to to move the entire structure. People often build their tiny homes on top of the skids, allowing them to be more portable. However, it’s not as simple of a move as a house on wheels, so it’s a more complicated move.

Hiring professional movers is usually worth the investment. These moving pros have the expertise and experience to get the job done quickly and safely, saving you time and potentially avoiding damage to your belongings. Professionals are especially a good idea if you’re moving long distances or large, bulky items, like furniture, pianos, or vehicles. Pros will also know when you need moving permits based on where you live and whether or not the moving truck will block traffic.

Building a house is generally more expensive upfront than moving an existing one. However, the total cost depends on factors such as location, size, materials, labor, and permits. Moving a house can incur significant expenses for transportation, permits, site preparation, and renovations. On the other hand, building a new house allows for customization and may have lower long-term maintenance costs.

The first step in moving a house is to provide blueprints and assess which parts of the house you can move. The next steps are obtaining permits, inspecting the structure, securing road permits, and getting bank approval.

When it's time to move, professionals can prepare the house by disconnecting utilities, removing items, and adding support braces. The house is then lifted with steel beams, jacked up, and placed on dollies for transport. Once it’s at the new location, it gets lowered onto the new foundation, utilities get reconnected, and additional features, like porches or garages, are added.
