"Diaz was extremely professional and delivered high quality work. They painted several rooms in our home and the results look fantastic. He was professional, punctual, and respectful of our space, making sure everything was properly protected and cleaned up afterward. The quality of their work really shows in the clean lines, even coats, and great attention to detail. Communication was clear from start to finish, and the project was completed on time. We’re very happy with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality painting work."

"We are extremely pleased with A to Z Renovations & plan to have them come back to do more painting & drywall repair. They painted the ceilings, walls & trim for our whole downstairs area. Also repaired drywall before painting. The job took a few days to complete & each day before they left they completely cleaned their work area & moved furniture back. So professional & also easy to talk with. I was impressed when he used his own time to help me with a small paint project I was working on. I initially chose them for their price & rating & know we made the right choice. I asked them for business cards for my neighbors. Great guys!"

"These 2 are the best around! They arrive on time, are polite, clean the area each day, and ask any questions. There is not a brush or roller mark anywhere, including where they blended in old and new. By far the most skillful and professional around!"

Painting questions, answered by experts

The best way to prepare your vinyl fence for a paint job is to clean it with warm, soapy water and rinse it with a hose or pressure washer on a low setting. Be sure to let it totally dry, then sand the surface before applying an epoxy-based primer. After the primer, you're ready to paint your vinyl fence.

Yes, you can paint galvanized chain link, but the process is a bit more difficult as it requires additional prep work. Before applying the primer and paint, you must remove the original coating from the metal, which can be time-consuming. If the original coating is not removed, the primer and paint will not bond properly and cause peeling over time.

The best type of paint to use for chain link fences is an oil-based paint. Oil-based paints are durable and will withstand the elements well. Search for an oil-based paint with rust protection and aluminum flakes to further protect the longevity of the fence.

Exterior paints contain more volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, making them dangerous when used indoors. Without the free ventilation of the great outdoors, it can take longer for the fumes to dissipate than interior paint. While you may notice the smell lessening more quickly, you should be wary of paint fumes inside for 48 to 72 hours after it dries.

There are several ways to make a wooden fence more visually appealing and keep it that way for years to come.

  • Treat the fence with a wood sealant to protect it against the elements. It’s recommended to reseal a fence every two to three years, but if you live in a harsh climate, you may want to do it more frequently than that.

  • Restore the fence if it’s old, corroding, or fading. That includes cleaning it and making small repairs where needed.

  • Paint the fence in a color that you like, whether that’s a simple white or more vibrant option. Fences usually need to be repainted every one to three years.

  • Decorate the fence with planters, string lights, birdhouses, mirrors, shutters, and more.
