"We had a fantastic experience with Clean Hands Painting and would definitely use them again. The entire service was absolutely perfect. They expertly sanded the woodwork in our living room and resealed it, caulking the areas near the vents to make a flawless finish. Junior communicated well, and was always very polite, professional, and conscientious. He worked very carefully and cleaned things up at the end of the day. You can’t go wrong with hiring Clean Hands Painting!"

"C & S Power Washing always does an excellent job at our house. I would not use anyone else. The products they use makes it longer between cleanings. Please give them a call for a very clean house. You will be glad you did."

"Tom did a wonderful job. He tore down our existing porch and hauled it all away. He cleaned up everyday before he left. Very Professional. Our new porch is beautiful, the quality is excellent. He made sure everything was done top notch. The price was very reasonable. He actually did extras that we weren't even expecting. We would definitely recommend him!!!!!!!! He even made friends with our dog. She ate lunch with him everyday.."

"I call this young team the miracle workers. They came in and repainted our complete interior. It was beautiful, not a mismark anywhere. Would hire them again and again and would recommend them without fail to anyone who wants painting in their home."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Pressure-treated decking may be worth it if you want a natural, insect- and rot-resistant decking material that will last for decades with proper maintenance. As such, it’s a much better option than untreated pine. Alternative wood decking materials like cedar and redwood tend to be less durable and more expensive. Some homeowners prefer composite decking, which is a low-maintenance alternative to wood but is also more costly.

Ideally, a gate should be able to swing both in and out. However, if it can only open in one direction, it is generally best for it to swing inward. This is often the safest option, especially for deck gates near steps, as you'll want the gate to swing away from the stairs. An inward swing also prevents the gate from opening into a public space, like a sidewalk, and can be more convenient when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

There are exceptions, however. The layout of your property may require a different approach. For example, if your property is on a slope, the gate may not be able to swing inward. You should also ensure the gate can open fully without colliding with any objects or blocking access to other areas. For a backyard garden gate where public access isn't a concern, the direction it swings is largely a matter of personal preference. Finally, always check your local building codes, as they may have specific requirements for which way a gate must swing.

Before installing any materials under the deck for removing moisture, you should perform some prep work on the ground. Work the dirt under the deck to create a grade away from the home. A grade of at least six inches for every 10 feet works well. Do not leave a gap between the dirt and the home’s foundation where water could pool. Once you or a contractor regrades the dirt under the deck, you then can add materials over the top.

PVC decking might be long-lasting, but this synthetic material lacks the natural aesthetic or sustainability of wood decking. If you want to match your decking to your new garden furniture or just freshen up the faded surface, it’s not usually possible to paint PVC decking. When comparing PVC to composite decking, PVC is pricier and more prone to warping in hot regions.

Yes, an elevated deck can increase a home's resale value. Homeowners can expect a 65% return on investment from the cost of a second-story deck installation. For example, if you spend $5,000 to install a second-story deck, that deck will add $3,250 to the value of your home.
