"I would highly recommend this business.  We had them come and restain the deck and at first just powerwash the house.  They scheduled the work right away.  After doing the pressure washing, there were some areas with paint chips under the soffit.  Mike offered to repaint those for free.  During this, they noticed areas of the soffit that were rotten, so we had them repair those areas of the wood.  They also fixed a few screens that were damaged during the pressure washing for free.
Everything turned out great, and we are very happy we had this work done.  Mike and Crystal are very professional and easy to work with.  I will be having them do some more work on our house in the near future.

"Matthew Tyler painted 11 doors and changed out all the hardware associated. The jobs was done efficiently, reasonably priced, and he cleaned up following completion. I will ask him to do some other work in the future. I recommend his services thus far."

"David Francis showed up on time in his bright Cobalt blue truck, pulled out his telescoping ladder and walked about the roof. He inspected the roof all over, caulked a few spots, and flattened a vent boot corner that had curled up in a recent storm.  He came inside to look at the water stain, and explained that it was probably from a torrent of water going down the roof valley a couple of feet away with some small amount driven under the shingles by the wind. (This makes sense to me because the stain appeared after a harsh storm with unusual easterly winds on Oct 10-11, while no further water damage appeared after major storms the following week with westerly winds.)
He was happy to explain what he was looking for in terms of roof condition and construction methods, and what makes for a good roofing job. He would have recommended painters to deal with the water stain had I asked him.
I was happy with his prompt response in scheduling the inspection, and his punctuality and professionalism.  I didn't rate the price because it was an Angie's List Big Deal, nor the quality because the repairs were so minor. It was well worth the $49 for peace of mind.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Ensure gutters and downspouts remain clean, monitor wall integrity, and promptly address any arising imperfections or peels concept permanence rooted.

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

Yes, it is important to wash your deck before painting to ensure the paint applies well and adheres properly. While you don't have to use a pressure washer, it is one of the most efficient cleaning methods. Pressure washing can quickly remove dirt, wood fibers, and flaked paint, getting deeper into the wood than manual scrubbing. You can also clean the deck with a stiff broom and a cleaning solution. Regardless of the method, a clean surface is essential for good paint adhesion. Make sure the deck is completely dry before applying any paint.

Yes, beginners can use a paint sprayer, but there is a learning curve. It's important to go slowly, read the instructions thoroughly, and spend some time learning the technique. Watching tutorial videos for your specific paint sprayer model can be very helpful. Before starting your main project, practice on a scrap surface to get used to the sprayer and avoid common issues like overspraying, which can cause drips, bubbles, and other imperfections. For safety, always wear a mask and gloves, and be careful not to touch the sprayer's tip when it's in use, particularly with high-powered airless sprayers.

Staining a deck with a rag is typically a better option than using a brush, as it helps the stain penetrate deeper into the wood. However, both brushes and rags are best reserved for detailed work because using these tools on an entire deck can require tediously crawling around on your hands and knees. A pad applicator, sprayer, or roller are preferred alternatives to applying stain over the majority of a deck. Use a rag for railings and other detailed work, and let the wood soak up as much of the stain as possible before wiping away drips or pools.
