"Youve heard of a jack of all trades, but you cant be sure youve met one until you hire this man. He doesnt just do a job, he makes art. He took the time to communicate about EVERYTHING we wanted and delivered with nothing less than what we asked for. He even went above and beyond hand cutting and measuring the wood to deliver a truly clean flush look to our yard. Our family is so beyond happy with the way our fence looks as well as the security it provides for our newborn and our dogs. He was one man, but he got it done in less than a week and he was the person directly discussing what he would be doing as he was doing it. We fully intend to hire him next year for our next big project, and you should definitly consider him for yours."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The duration of a lakefront landscaping project is determined by its scope, environmental conditions, and weather impacts. It often takes several weeks to a few months to complete.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

As with anything you do near your foundation, you’ll want to ensure proper drainage when you plant your foundation beds. Your drainage should run downhill from the highest point against your foundation to avoid water intrusion and incurring expensive foundation repair costs.

Other projects that you can do at the same time as your trellis include painting the deck , installing a pergola, or adding mulch to your garden beds.

A scattering of leaves won’t pose a problem through the winter, but a thicker layer of leaves may not decompose before the first frost and can instead weigh down your grass and harbor mold or fungi. A thick layer of leaves also cuts off light and air that grass needs to grow. That’s why we suggest removing thick leaf layers within several days if possible. If your lawn goes dormant over the winter and snow has already caught up with you, then remove the leaves in early spring before your grass-growing season starts so your lawn can thrive.
