Serving all your garage doors needs from installing a new door or servicing your current garage door. We cover from Lake Gaston to the Outer Banks, Southern Virginia and anywhere in between. We also service most garage door motors and lift systems.

"East Coast Garage was honest, on time, worked diligently and ensured we were happy with their product. Allen saved us money when another company tried to tell us we needed a new door. Allen explained it was only our door opener that was broken and that door was okay. He saved us $2200 and replaced our opener the day after diagnosing the problem. I highly recommend East Coast Garage."

Garage Doors questions, answered by experts

You can prevent your garage from freezing by applying techniques like sprinkling salt onto the garage floor, installing a garage heater, shoveling snow outside the door, and more. Additional methods of preventing your garage from freezing over is to seal all potential air gaps, replace weatherstripping, and adding insulation to the surrounding walls to keep the heat from escaping.

Getting a garage door tune-up is worth it. Tune-ups are a form of preventative maintenance that help extend a garage door's lifespan and prevent dangerous issues, like worn springs or misaligned sensors. The cost to get a garage tune-up is far less than letting problems get out of hand and causing costly repairs—or worse—injuries.

Without a doubt, insulating a garage door is a surefire way to make your home more energy efficient. Not only does insulating your garage door reduce your electric bills, but it also helps protect your valuables inside your garage, all while making for a quieter interior space.

In regions that drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, your car's battery is at risk of malfunctioning in a garage that drops dangerously low. So, homeowners who reside in extremely cold climates can especially benefit from insulating their garages.

It's best to use a silicone- or lithium-based lubricant since they're designed to deeply penetrate the door's components and provide long-lasting protection against wear and tear. Avoid using WD-40 and standard grease since they can potentially strip away existing lubrication or attract dust and dirt, respectively.

Indoor propane heaters are safe to use in a garage. You may be able to use an outdoor propane heater inside a garage in some instances, as long as the garage door remains open and there’s constant airflow to allow the carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide to escape. Other garage heaters include electric heaters and gas heaters.
