"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

Tinting your windows can provide many benefits, like added security, privacy, safety, and protection from UV rays. However, not all window tinting serves all of those purposes, so before you commit to a type, make sure you understand the benefits it offers. 

For example, security windows don't typically offer much in the way of UV protection, but they're ideal for protecting your home from intruders. Meanwhile, ceramic window tints won't prevent glass from breaking like security windows, but they provide ample protection from UV rays in addition to heat absorption capabilities. 

Window tinting is not hard, but can be tedious. It does require steady hands and a lot of patience. The process can be time-consuming if this is your first time tinting home windows by yourself. While most films can be removed and reapplied within one sitting, repeated re-application would eventually render the film useless. If you’ve struggled with putting protective films on your phone or tablet, you might want to hire a professional to tint your windows.

Some frosted glass sprays can handle the outdoors, but most of them aren't built for it. Sprays made for exterior use will say so clearly on the label. Anything marked “interior use only” can't hold up against rain, UV exposure, or changing temperatures without peeling, fading, or yellowing. Outdoor-rated sprays are typically more durable, but even then, proper prep and application matter. Before spraying anything outside, double-check the product instructions. The best windows to tint are those that get the most direct sunlight—particularly sunroom windows or windows facing the south or east where the sun shines most brightly throughout the day.
