"Looking for a reliable and highly skilled team to complete a home improvement? Look no further! Carolina East Home Improvements provides quality, professional service for a variety of home improvement needs. I hired this company to build an addition sunroom on my home. I also had a concrete patio installed. After reviewing 5 local contractors, the decision was easy to select this company. This team exceeded all expectations! They made the process fun and transparent. They worked hard to build what we envisioned. They offered suggestions and ideas to make sure we were happy with the final build. Brooks and Tyler provided clear, honest information and pricing. The workmanship was exceptional. In fact, the brickwork matches the home so well an untrained eye would not be able to tell it is an addition to the original home. The entire team at Carolina East is incredibly flexible, trustworthy, and talented. I highly recommend this company for any remodeling project, patio installation, or home improvement. You won't be disappointed. I look forward to working with Brooks and Tyler in the future."

"We would definitely recommend patio enclosures. They built our sunroom / 3-seasons room this summer and it was a great experience througout the process. Everett was very responsive throughout the build process and also was the entire team. You get to see the 3D design & alter during the sales process itself and get the quote right away. There were transparent communication throughout and clean followthrough even when there were minor hiccups. We are happy with the final build."

Small jobs welcome

"East Coast Masonry did great work on a number of projects for us. Large projects such as full elevated foundation install, and slab foundations, to smaller jobs such as concrete patios. They do quality work, at fair prices, and communicate effectively. I would highly recommend them for concrete and Mason work, and plan to continue using them in the future."

Patios questions, answered by experts

The cost to screen in a porch depends on whether you are adding screens to an existing structure or building a new one from scratch. Adding screens to an existing porch costs about $5 to $7 per square foot, with a national average cost of around $2,800. For example, screening a 12-by-12-foot (144-square-foot) porch would likely cost between $700 and $1,000. If you are building a new screened-in porch, the cost is substantially higher. A new 12-by-12-foot screened-in porch can cost between $6,400 and $18,300, while a new 14-by-16-foot one averages around $11,000. The final price will vary based on the size of the porch, labor costs, and the materials you choose.

If you’re trying to decide between a sunroom and a screened-in porch, the right choice will depend on your priorities. A screened-in porch costs only a fraction of the price of a sunroom, but in exchange, it has much more limited use. A sunroom will add more value to your home, but at a much higher up-front cost and longer construction timeline.

Yes, enclosing a patio to create a sunroom or three-season room is often a good idea that adds value to your home. This project increases your home's usable square footage and creates a versatile space for relaxing or entertaining that is filled with natural light and can be used in various weather conditions. Homeowners may see an average return on investment (ROI) of around 70%. The final value added will depend on factors such as the quality of the materials, the level of finish, and the amount of yard space that remains after the enclosure.

A screened-in porch requires maintenance to keep the screens clean and in good shape, and you may have to do some screen repair or replacement from time to time. A screen porch isn’t an all-season porch, so the weather can get in, including wind and rain.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.
