"This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had with a service. DO NOT DO IT. SAVE YOURSELF. He was insanely rude from the jump, he would NOT let me finish a single sentence before cutting in to talk over me, either to tell me I’m wrong or just completely change the subject of what I was saying. He refused to accept that there was an issue with my dryer just because it wasn’t overflowing with lint. I had to call my fiancé home from work to be there with me to deal with this guy. Honestly he kept taking over my fiancé too so it wasn’t just a me being a woman thing at least. My fiancé finally had to ask him if he was going to actually open up the dryer and look at it and Mike agreed. Just to then immediately say “somethings not right here” over and over. Wow. Who would’ve thought something weird was happening. The issue I called him out for he still insists is me overreacting because we just replaced something else on the dryer causing a burning smell. Rude to tell your customer they’re overreacting but whatever, I supposed. I am overly cautious about smelling a burning smell from my dryer, but I’m not gonna accept that I’m in the wrong for it. He made it seem like I was in hysteria over it, when I was just trying to explain the situation. Which he wouldn’t ever let me get out without interruption. We were having an issue, I called an “expert” out for said issue, what’s the problem? He could’ve had an easy day and quick money off of someone who was just unsure of what they were dealing with and wanted to make sure they got someone who did know. Instead I had to have an argument with a 68 year old man about how not to talk to people. $206 for a simple part replacement that could’ve taken two minutes for any normal human being who knew what they were looking at. Unprofessionalism aside, insane pricing. But hey, I learned many things today. Mostly how to save $206 and to never ever use Mike’s appliance services again. Anyway, avoid this guy at all costs. God forbid you want to do laundry worry free. Ol Mikey boy will be there to make you feel stupid for being concerned and wanting to be safe. Adding to this for Angi’s site specifically too: Angi should be ashamed for endorsing this business. I regret using this site to find someone. Never again."

"Contractor was selected by our home warranty company after paying our service fee. Contractor did come to diagnose the problem with our dishwasher. He called our home warranty company and the work was approved. Part was ordered. I received an email saying the part had arrived and to schedule an appointment on the contractors website. I scheduled the appointment and no one showed up at the scheduled time or the time allotted for a technician to show up. I called and emailed the contractor with no response. After about a week I spoke to the contractor and he apologized that I wasn't contacted about the part. Apparently the emailed I received was automated and that I should have waited until he contacted me to let me know that the part had arrived. He apologized again said that the part in question should arrive the next or the following day and that he would contact me. Fast forward two weeks and the same story. I would strongly encourage anyone that appreciates good customer service to not use Phoenix Appliance Repair our of McLeansville, NC."

"If I could give Wager Appliance 10 stars, I would! Wagner Appliance has helped the #IBSpeasBees three times in 2 years! They DONATED a Washing Machine in October 2020 just as our students were returning to in-person school when ours suddenly broke and could no longer be repaired. Then in March 2021, our very old Refrigerator in the staff room bit the dust. They came through again with a donation as the school system does not provide schools with Refrigerators for staff rooms. Then we asked if they had a Compact Freezer for storing ice closer to our gym where we have PE classes and students often get "hurt" and a small baggie of ice fixes all of the problems. They donated again!!! This delivery was extra complicated. The amazing delivery guys were going to come on September 1, 2021 and called to confirm their arrival at 12:15 p.m., just as our elementary school went into lockdown because of a disturbance at Mt. Tabor. We were unaware of the severity of this disturbance at the time. We confirmed the scheduled delivery for later that afternoon. As the situation became more clear, the very concerned professionals called and let us know they would come another day and to just give them a call at the shop to reschedule. The next day, our school completely forgot to reschedule the delivery, but the driver called us and arranged for a delivery that very afternoon! This is top-notch service and delivery! We are so, so impressed, and so very thankful for their kindness and concern!!! Please share this story! Wagner Appliance went above and beyond in service of our school and students! Thank you to everyone at Wagner Appliance!"

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

On average, most electric ovens will last up to 13 years, and most gas ovens can last up to 15 years. To get the most out of your oven, it’s essential to properly clean and maintain it to prevent buildup. Generally, a good deep cleaning of your oven every three months will keep it clean and working correctly for years to come.

The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.

A gas furnace is more energy-efficient and works better in colder climates. It’s often a bit less expensive to operate. Electric furnaces are cheaper upfront, easier to maintain, and perform better in warmer temperatures. While both furnace options have their pros and cons, the right furnace will depend on your needs.

Sometimes, replacing instead of repairing your electric stove might save you more in the long run. Is your cooktop reaching the end of its life span? Has it had other issues frequently over the past few months? These are all signs getting a new stove altogether might make more financial sense. Upgrading your stove also has a positive impact on your property’s value.

There are a few scenarios when replacing all kitchen appliances simultaneously makes sense, including major renovations, moving into a new home, or purchasing as a set. If you want to refresh your kitchen upon move-in day or start over during a renovation, consider purchasing and replacing your kitchen appliances at once to save on labor costs. Also, if your appliances are all original to the home or are older and require increasing amounts of maintenance and repair, replacing them all at the same time may be a good option.
