"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. Many factors affect how much adding air conditioning will cost you, from the size of your home to the size, type, brand, and installation specifics of the system itself. Chances are, a new central air conditioning system for a 2,000-square-foot house will cost somewhere between $3,900 and $7,900 to install, with an average around $6,000. 

Most AC units last between 10 and 20 years, but lifespans depend on the type of air conditioner. For example, central AC units last for 12 to 17 years with proper maintenance and regular inspections from a professional. Window AC units, on the other hand, last between eight and 10 years.

You can run an HRV with air conditioning—assuming that you decide to keep the system on during the summer. The HRV will continue to bring in fresh outdoor air, which will then flow into your AC unit and cool down your home. It will also keep moving the stuffy indoor air out of your house.

You should service your AC at least once per year, in the spring, and twice per year if your unit is 10 years or older. As your unit ages, more maintenance can catch problems early and help the system reach its full lifespan potential, usually 15 years.

Get on your HVAC technician’s schedule in early spring so your unit is ready to go for the season. If you’re doing two inspections per year, aim for one in the spring and one in the fall. You should also service your furnace once per year in the fall.
