"I called him since he offers a 10% discount.  When I talked to him, I told him to call me if something came up before the appointment.  I called him at about 9:30 in the morning of the appointment and he said that something had come up on that day.  I had called him, but when was she going to call and let me know that he could not make it?  I had a 2:00 appointment that same day!

He has not contacted me since and does not return my calls."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can revive carpet that’s flattened using household items like an ice cube and stiff brush, a damp cloth and an iron, baking soda and vinegar, and shaving cream. If you want to go all-out, visit a local home improvement store and buy a carpet rake, too. Depending on the state of your carpet, you may need to use more than one of these methods to see results. Keep in mind that you might need to repeat a reviving method more than once.

Typically, it takes a few hours, depending on the extent and area of repairs needed.

You may be able to use super glue in a pinch to fix your carpet, but expect the repair to last only a short time. Super glue isn't designed for carpet, so over time, it'll break down, and the carpet piece will move out of place. For the best results, go to the store and grab a bottle of carpet seam glue.

Vacuum regularly, clean spills promptly, and schedule professional deep cleaning annually.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.
