They did just an awful job on both houses.  I like giving them a second chance on the sidings of the second house.  He made good; I like to give a chance to educate them but it seemed to be an expensive thing to do was to let them practice on your home.  They left holes, trim undone; it's just that I won't use them again.  It's just a disaster.  Chris was great but the people he got to work were terrible.

Everything went fine until one afternoon I arrived at the job to find
one of the painters lying on my steps overcome with fumes from some kind
of paint stripper he had been using.  Inside,  my hardwood floors had
lots of paint on them as if they failed to use drop cloths. The job
foreman called me to settle with him after completing the work and I
went to my house to inspect the work.  It looked fine initially except
that they had removed my wooden blinds (special made at a cost of over
$5000.00) so they could paint the windows.  I asked when they planned on
rehanging the blinds and the foreman just stared at me for several
moments before saying they had thrown the blinds away.  Gone, in the
trash, at the landfill were my blinds.  The foreman still asked for his
money saying he had a house payment to make. I, of course refused to
pay.  I figure I owed Veterans $2500, and they owed me a bit over $5000
to replace my blinds so they actually owed me 2500-2600, the diference
between the cost of blinds and what I owed them.  In discussions with
Rick he didn't want to pay me what he owes me because he didnt want to
file a claim with his insurance.  It hasnt been a year yet and the paint
is popping off one of the exterior windows and the kitchen floor is
bubbling up in spots. I would never ever use Veterans Roofing for
anything.  I'm strongly considering taking them to court as I've gotten
NO satisfaction from them.  They are one of the reasons contractors have
a bad name. Use them at your own peril.

Eveything was done in a timely matter. Workers arrived early on 8-17-12 and worked pretty much non-stop (took breaks) in order to get in all done the same day even through it was very hot. Did great job with clean up. Also removed large satellite dish and hauled away. (no charge). Also trimmed a tree without being asked THANKS. Need more home repairs done and plan to give them first shot.

I hired Rick and the crew from Veterans Roofing to replace the roofing on my home. From start to finish, it was an exceptional experience. When I first decided to get an estimate, I called and left Rick a message. Rick promptly returned my call. We discussed what I was looking for and we scheduled the date to measure my house for the estimate. Rick provided a comprehensive estimate of the job. His estimate was better the other two estimates I had received and then he gave a 10% military discount on top of it. So the best price got even better!
When the day came to begin the job, Rick and a full man crew showed up on time and ready to work. The team hit the ground running, immediately putting down tarps to protect my plants and bushes. This would also assist them later with clean up. While the crew was setting up, Rick walked around my home with me discussing the job, pointing out little nuances of the project and answering all of my questions.
The crew was great! They were extremely polite and considerate. The crew was always busy. I never saw anyone just standing around. Cleanup was a continuous process. Once the tear off was complete, the old roofing was loaded in a truck and out of the way. A member of the crew used a magnetic device to pick up all the nails in my yard and then picked up by hand any small pieces of shingle that may not have ended up in the truck. The crew on the roof was meticulous. In each area they worked in, I observed them snapping a chalk line to ensure the rows were perfectly straight and aligned with the area to the left and right. The crew worked hard until dusk, then made arrangements to be back the next morning to finish up the job. Again Rick was on site when the crew arrived. It was important to me to see his involvement in the job and oversight of the crew (leadership). In a few short hours the crew was done and gone, leaving me with a beautiful new roof , with an awesome cleanup job.
I choose IKO architectural shingles for my roof. IKO provided many color options. I narrowed it down to 3 colors. Rick suggested Dual Brown to compliment the color of our house and my wife agreed. They look great! I am extremely happy with the difference these shingles make in the appearance of my house!
I will use Rick and Veterans Roofing for any home improvement project I have. I highly recommend you call Veterans Roofing if you want a quality job at a fair price.

They were very good and the price was covered by my insurance. A prior company told me I needed a new roof and that it would cost $8,000. When Veterans came he told me I only needed part of the roof repaired so I thought it was good that he was not trying to take advantage of us.

I contacted this company to get an estimate on remodeling our master bath in a home we just purchased.  A gentleman driving a Veterans Roofing truck came to our home and provided a comprehensive estimate.  At the time I told him that I was more concerned with how quickly the process could be completed more than I was concerned with pricing.  Once all the bids were in we found that veterans had the fastest completion, by about a week.  So I set up an appointment to pick out the tile and pay the deposit, it was then that I learned that the work was being subbed out to another company.  I was not worried about it because I believed the gentleman was an employee of Veterans so he would be conducting project oversight.  Long story short, the project was supposed to take 2 weeks, it took over a month.  The tile in the shower is ALREADY lifting and turns out the gentleman I was dealing with initially did not work for Veterans, but owned the company that Veterans Subbed my bathroom to.  The drywall looks like a teenager did it, and the grout is already failing.
As a veteran myself I wanted to do business with other veterans.  This company completely fooled me into thinking that I was hiring competent contractors to complete my renovation.  I will now have to hire someone else to fix this mess, I would not recommend this company to anyone and am totally blown away that the company would send a subcontractor to bid on the job in the companies name.

Veteran's Roofing did a superb job; very efficient and cleaned up after themselves.  It has been a few months and I haven't noticed any leaks and it looks so much better.  Extremely satisfied customer.

Veterans removed a wall we suspected had water/mold damage.  They replaced the insulation and replaced drywall.  There were no problems encountered.  They also removed a shower unit from our bathroom.  It went seamlessly.  Their price was very fair and lower than some competitors and the quality of work was great.

They sub contracted out some of the work. The guy overseeing the work was really good. If I had a complaint, he would take care of it. The people he hired had to be watched over. It seemed to be times when they said they were done, and I had to go behind them and point out things they did not finish. The job was okay, but I felt like I had to baby sit them. The sheet rock guy had to come back times because the job was not done correctly.

Not recommend.  Consider any other option.

The Problem:  I was very surprised when the painters finished the job in only a day and a half.  Here in lies the problem.  A review of their work revealed over 35 problems.  Major examples include:  paint on the carpet, paint on the hardwood, paint on light fixtures, speed roller marks, paint overage on ceilings, baseboard painting not completed, and wavy wall to ceiling paint lines.

Why:  My understanding of why this happened is simple greed.  This company and its workers seem to work by the motto of quick and slick.  The workers were sloppy, lacked attention to detail, and all about getting the job done quickly to get paid, not necessarily right.  I would not recommend them for any job based on their attitude and orientation toward quality.

Veterans Roofing was quite an experience. Their quote came in the "Middle" of three. The Main reason for choosing them was that upon meeting the Project Manager, Christopher G. Garrison, I Knew I could trust his judgement. He was Always on time, very professional, listened to Exactly what I wanted, then made sure it Happened!

I am a Military Wife and was alone at the time of this Project. My husband was Sure I would get "taken", which I can definitely see happening, But Mr.Garrison made sure everything was done to the Highest quality  I would place Both of these men on speed dial for any other home issues. Veterans Roofing was an overall Positive experience and would recommend. I plan on using them again!

The day before the job was to start they called to say that the shade of gray my wife wanted was out of stock.  I would think they should have known this sooner.  Then they said that their truck would be parked at the end of my drive way.  But, on the second day it way in the middle of my front yard.  It was a two day job but, they finished at night on the second day.  So I am not sure how good the work is done at night.  I used them because they hire veterans and I am a veteran.  But I am not sure if the will use them again.

It went quite well.  The owner of the company, Mr Rick Schooler, was courteous and personable.  He offered me the veteran's discount without my having to request it.  He showed up to begin the work when he said he would, and completed the job on time.  I especially appreciate the fact that he used enough men to finish the job in one day.

The workers were fast, competent and were very responsive to what we wanted.  The job was thoroughly discussed before hand and we knew exactly what we were getting. The work was performed very professionally and the house almost looked new after the job was done.  The workmen cleaned up after the job.   I have nothing bad to say about the experience.

I called several companies and had no luck getting anyone to come out and give me an estimate.  I believe that since it was a small job most companies were not interested.  I contacted veterans roofing on a Friday, Dennis and his crew were working in Southern Pines.  Dennis drove to Fayetteville that evening to give me an estimate.  The workers showed up the next morning and completed the work in about 5 hours.  They were professional and cleaned up as they worked.  Veterans Roofing has earned a spot in my speed dial and I will definitely use them for future home improvement projects.

They did well and the service was good. They did go over the estimate a little bit. They also did the carpet and they went over about $200on both of these. The work was really good on both of them. We would probably use them again.
Response from Veterans Roofing & Construction
"We did paint the interior of the home as well as the tile in the kitchen on this house, not the carpet. There is not a contractor that can beat Lowe's carpet prices."

We had just moved into this rental house and bought a new BBQ. We put the BBQ too close to the vinyl siding and it melted. A small piece and a very large piece. He originally quoted us $150 to replace the siding and send he'd have to come back after finding the right color. The next day he came back with some siding that was just a little off of the pale yellow color so he put the off colored pieces on the side of the house where no one would see it, and took the pieces from the side and put them where it was originally melted in the back. To top it off, he told us that he had obtained the pieces from another contractor as an extra so he only charged us $85! It looks perfect and who charges LESS THAN the quote??!! They were great!
