Small jobs welcome

"AJ HB took down 5 crepe Myrtle trees that were too near the house and sick with fungus. They ground the stumps, cut back some pampas grass and hauled away all the debris. Then I asked him to do our pine straw. He’s a hard worker, showed up when he said he would and gave us a fair price. Communication between us was very good and he’s super polite and aims to please the customer. Would definitely hire again."

"David and his crew did an awesome job for us. They poured a slab for our 20 x 20 building and a sidewalk! We also had the building wired and they did that for us. We were ð ¯ % satisfied with the work. They were always respectful and very caring about the detail of their work. They will be our go to contractors when needed. Thank you David, Buster and crew!!! "Before they showed up, my yard looked like it was auditioning for a Discovery Channel documentary. A few days later, it looked like it belonged on a landscaping magazine cover. Great communication, fair pricing, and they treated my property like it was their own. I’d hire them again in a heartbeat… assuming I can convince my wife we need to clear more land. 10/10 would let them bulldoze my property again. The only complaint I have is now my wife expects the inside of the house to look as good as the outside."

The cost to repair a crawl space runs between $1,500 and $15,000, depending on the extent of the damage. Major flooding or water repairs can cost up to $10,000 for removal and repairs. If you simply need to clean your crawl space, expect to pay between $2,000 and $6,000 for a major cleanout. Replacing a crawl space beam due to rot or damage can cost between $1,500 and $5,000, while removing and replacing damaged insulation costs between $1,000 and $4,000.

The easier way to find buried sprinkler lines is to use the plan from the professionals who installed the system. If you don’t have professional plans, listen for running water on your lawn when you turn on the system. You may also spot wet areas, giving you an idea of where the heads are. Once you find the sprinkler heads, you’ll likely be able to connect the dots between them, revealing the system below.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.

In most areas, you will need a permit for excavation work, even for projects that only involve grading or yard leveling. Permit requirements depend on your local government and the scope of the project, but they are especially common for significant digging or work that could affect utilities or public property. These permits help protect the local topography and prevent drainage issues. An experienced excavation company will typically know whether permits are needed and can often handle the process of pulling and closing them for you. You can also verify permit requirements by contacting your local building department and describing your project.

The digging depth will depend on the size of the trencher you use. Even smaller units can dig up to 4 feet deep, which is plenty for a DIY job. However, much larger trenchers can reach a depth of 18 feet and are better used by a team of pro contractors, not a single DIYer. As with all home improvement projects, use the right tool for the job and proceed with caution.
