"Lane and his team were great to work with. After a quick site inspection of my driveway, I received a competitive quote for crack repair and seal coating, next day. Thunderstorms caused the cancellation of our initial work day, but Lane quickly got me back on the schedule. My driveway was a year or two overdue for repair, but LB Asphalt & Construction has it looking new again. I?ll be calling Lane for future work without hesitation."

"I've been meaning to leave these guys a review and am just now getting there. They were doing work for a neighbor and I worked something out with them to do a repair on a heavily damaged front walkway to our house. The work was done quickly, thoroughly and for a very reasonable cost. I would not hesitate to use them again as their work is top notch."

Small jobs welcome

"Jeff and his crew at Fullbright Custom Concrete did a great job replacing our front porch and sidewalk. We went with colored stamped concrete that looks like wood. The end result exceeded our expectations. Even though the cost for stamped was double the broomed, the price was still fair, and the stamped option added more value and curb appeal to our home than we spent. We highly recommend Jeff and Fullbright Concrete. They did an excellent job."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Since it has a smoother surface using a mixture of finer rock and sand, 41A tends to be the best asphalt grade for a driveway, especially for residential driveways. Other options are available, but more homeowners choose 41A for a smoother asphalt driveway. Talk with your asphalt driveway professional for recommendations of the best grade for your specific driveway.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

When comparing installation costs, asphalt is often less expensive upfront than concrete. Asphalt prices typically range from $7 to $15 per square foot, while concrete can range from $3 to $18 per square foot. However, long-term costs should also be considered. Concrete driveways generally last longer (up to twice as long) and require less maintenance, which can make them more affordable over their lifespan. While asphalt has a lower installation cost and is easier to repair, it requires more frequent maintenance, such as sealing, which can add up over time. Therefore, while concrete is more expensive initially, its durability may offset the cost in the long run.

Your city or county will have guidelines about the minimum and maximum width and length of private roads. The average private road is 12 feet wide, and length, of course, depends on your property. Requirements also depend on the amount of traffic and types of vehicles your road experiences. Check with local ordinances before planning a road on your property.
