  • You see lint building up around the outside dryer vent cap.

  • Your laundry room is unusually hot.

  • Your dryer is unusually hot to the touch during operation.

  • You notice a kink in or damage to the vent.

If you are suddenly seeing more lint left inside the dryer and in the lint trap, you may have an active blockage. Additionally, if the dryer is taking longer than usual to dry clothing, a clogged vent may be the culprit. Clogged vents could introduce a fire hazard.
