--Brook was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. --He seemed knowledgeable (e.g. he immediately knew how to build an 8ft gate which spanned a significant slope). --He worked with us on things we wanted done differently. --The guys on his crew who did most of the work were very polite and did their best to build a solid and attractive fence. Cons: --Be sure to get all the details in writing up front. Verbal and vague written agreements tended to change as work progressed. One example (there were others) is when Brook did the estimate, he specifically asked what kind of stain we wanted to use so he could get the estimate as close as possible. Later, when we decided to do the staining ourselves, the price was not reduced because Brook claimed he hadn't included staining in the initial estimate. Due to the fact that Brooks estimates and billings are not very detailed, I had no way of disputing this. --Brook got his crew started, but then pretty much left them here to do the work. He introduced one of the guys as the foreman, but I found out later that the guys doing the work (including the and quot;foremanand quot;) had only been building fences for one month and their experience consisted of building one type of fence for a new construction project. They had never built a shadow box fence like ours, nor had they built a fence at a house with existing landscape. --Brook typically uses nails. We had to pay extra in labor for screws. --Brook's normal method for setting the posts in concrete is to place the post directly on the ground in the hole then fill the hole about halfway with concrete. He claims this is because most people want to fill the remaining hole with dirt and plant grass right up around the post. We provided rock which the crew put in the bottom of each post hole at no additional cost. Also, when we saw how the concrete had been done, Brook put more concrete in each hole, but he brought it barely to ground level (in a few places it was still below ground level), it didn't slope away from the posts, and it certainly wasn't aesthetically pleasing. --Once the fence is built, the norm for Beartooth is to use a handheld circular saw turned on its side to trim the posts to the appropriate height. This causes the tops of the posts to be a bit uneven. Additionally, I now have a lovely slice in the siding on my house where the fence connects. --There was no walk-through at the end. I only knew the guys considered the job done because I saw them packing everything up and I went out and asked if they were finished. They said they were and they left. Afterward, my husband and I went out to look at the fence and discovered that they had trimmed the bottom of the pickets on the east side but not the west. This was the Thursday before the Memorial Day weekend. I called and left Brook a voicemail asking when someone would be coming back to finish. When I didn't hear back from him by midday Friday, I sent him an email. He called Tuesday morning and came out himself and finished trimming the boards. After he was done, he claimed the guys weren't suppose to have trimmed the boards at all so we had gotten ours trimmed from free. Since this very issue had been the topic of discussion on the second day of work, I didn't find this statement to be credible. However, if it is true that trimming the bottom of the boards isn't a normal part of the job, be aware that this will leave most of the pickets buried in the dirt. All said and done, we have a sturdy fence, but certainly not a quality fence. If you are looking for craftsmanship or simply quality workmanship, you will want to look elsewhere. The guys actually doing the work did their very best, but they lacked experience and direction. Additionally, the methods they had been taught were not those that would produce a high quality fence.

I found Curtis and his team very easy to work with in a collaborative way as I was picky about what rocks I wanted where and I changed a few things as the project progressed. Curtis added true creative insight and brought the project up to the level of my dreams. I laughed and enjoyed the time when they were working in the yard and was impressed with the long hours he put in to get the job done on my tight deadline. The tree planting was particularly well done with the trees very well staked and strong water troughs built. The highlight was the creative use of the extra rocks from the wall which he used to build markers at the ends of my driveway. It really added the final touch to make the landscape more formal but still aligned with the natural habitat. I would definitely hire Lone Wolf again. "We've been working with Darrell for over a year, and he's done a great job on several big projects for us. He's renovated a kitchen, added a full bathroom with laundry to a dry cabin, built new front and back porches, and is currently constructing a guest cabin from the foundation up. And that’s just some of the big stuff, he’s tackled many smaller projects along the way, all with the same level of care & attention to detail.
One of the things we appreciate most is Darrell's ability to find creative solutions to make the most of our space. When we weren’t sure everything would fit, he came up with a layout that made it work without sacrificing functionality. He’s great at problem-solving and always finds ways to make a project exactly what we want... or something even better!
Darrell is reliable, easy to work with, and takes pride in making sure things are done well. We’re happy with the work he’s done for us & would definitely recommend Four O Six Contracting LLC to others!"

FAQs for plant watering projects in Livingston, MT
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
