"Nevin Carpenter did an "Awesome" job on my Trex deck. I couldn't be more pleased. I know for the next 25yrs I will not have to worry about my deck. I am very impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. Since the completion of my new deck all my neighbors now want a Trex deck because it looks so nice. I will definitely use Nevin in the future for my next project my master bath. Great job Nevin."

"Chad and Scott did a fantastic job, from concept to completion of our project. We needed an interior wall, framing, door, drywall, texture, & painting, & all the details to enclose our kitchen from our entry. They understood our concept, and had the work done from start to finish in 2 weeks. Meticulous, detail-oriented, polite, & fun to have them here in our home are how we would describe our relationship with Chad & Scott. They even let us keep adding other small projects along with the wall construction, always being cheerful & accommodating. We would definitely recommend them to our friends & neighbors for any projects! Susan & Larry"

"We had an awesome experience working with John and Chad at Mr. Remodeler on our barndominium project. From the very beginning, they were involved in every step, from planning and design all the way through the final walkthrough. What really stood out was how often they were on site and how hands on they stayed throughout the entire build. Their subcontractors were great too, super respectful, skilled, and easy to work with. Everyone really listened to our input, which made a huge difference. We were also really happy that the project came in on budget and was finished on time. Chad’s background in real estate with Keller Williams gave us some great advice on where to spend money that could add value later if we ever decide to flip the property. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr. Remodeler to anyone looking for a trustworthy and talented team."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Balcony construction or replacement typically requires a building permit from your local permitting authority. Safety and building integrity are the main reasons for the need to obtain a permit and the subsequent inspections. In some cases, especially cantilevered balconies, your municipality may also require the oversight and signature of a structural engineer.

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.

Installing a tongue-and-groove wall requires similar techniques to those associated with installing shiplap. However, because of the precision necessary to make each board fit perfectly and the increased material prices, the cost is higher than that of shiplap installations. Expect to spend between $2 and $6 more per square foot for tongue-and-groove walls versus shiplap ones.

Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.
