"Eric R and Brandon F did a fantastic job. They took the time to show me what I needed. Thier attention to detail and explaining everything to me with pictures as proof was very nice. They had good suggestions on working on the roof instead of the siding as the roof was much worse."

Customers say: True professional

"We originally had six companies come in and give us bids. We really liked Top Line , but decided to go with another company that was more established. When I told Jared our decision he was so polite and understanding about it. I then called our chosen company to check in. They had done nothing in the two weeks since we had told them we wanted to use them. Hadn't even started on our quotes or information. So I fired them and immediately called Jared. Him and his crew were out within the week. Took less than 2 weeks to have our job completely done. It turned out wonderful we couldn't be happier. My husband has been a carpenter for 40 years. And he's very particular when he hires anyone else to work. I would go so far as to say he is very critical of other Carpenters. We are all very happy with the results! Top line is professional, friendly, courteous, and did a great job! We would be happy to give any references or answer any questions about Top Line. Next time we have a project to be done we will be calling top one construction. Thank you Jared and your crew."

"James with JT roofing came out and quoted me on a full roof install. He was very professional and respectful. He gave me a few options and we decided on a metal roof. The quality of their workmanship is 100%. James and crew are the best in town. I have already recommended JT Roofing to all of my friends and family. Thank you JT Roofing"

Siding questions, answered by experts

The average cost to replace siding is $10,500, but you should expect to pay an average of $12,000 to install new siding over stucco. The additional cost goes toward assessing the old stucco for damage, any necessary repairs before the new siding goes up, and the materials and labor required to install furring strips over the stucco to attach the new material. Even with this additional cost, installing siding over stucco is often more affordable than removing the stucco and starting over.

If you’re wondering how to make wood siding last longer, including Composite T1-11, inspect it annually or quarterly to spot and repair cracks, holes, or chipped areas. You’ll also want to re-stain the wood every 3 to 5  years or repaint every 7 to 10 years for protection (note that repainting requires stripping and sanding off old paint as well). Lastly, keep up with regular cleanings using a garden hose or low-pressure power washer to help prevent grime and discoloration.

New siding improves curb appeal, insulation, and protection from moisture and pests.

You should plan to stain or refinish your home's cedar siding every three to seven years to maintain its appearance and provide maximum protection, though some estimates suggest a range of four to six years. The exact frequency depends on several factors, including your local climate, exposure to severe weather like direct sunlight, rain, and wind, the quality of the initial stain application, the type of stain used, and the overall condition and quality of the wood.

For homes in harsh climates with high humidity and significant sun exposure, you should plan on staining as often as every three years, while those in milder locations may only need to do so every seven years. For the longest-lasting protection in particularly harsh climates, consider using an opaque stain.

If you are looking for a lower-maintenance alternative, you might consider vinyl or aluminum siding. While the initial installation cost can be higher, they do not require as much upkeep and can offer more value over time, especially in areas with excessive rainfall or high humidity.

Siding and cladding are two popular exterior wall coverings that protect homes from the elements and provide insulation, but they differ in design and application. Siding is applied directly to a home’s exterior, providing some insulation and basic shielding from the elements. In contrast, cladding is installed indirectly over furring strips, creating a ventilated air gap for enhanced insulation and moisture control.
