"Hello! I am a contractor in the Bitterroot Valley specializing in residential framing and exterior timber work. I have worked with Lasting Decks for a while now, and have been impressed with their quality and professional workmanship. Their friendly and knowledgeable personnel have been very helpful to myself and others I associate with, and I will continue to seek out their services. I can certainly recommend Lasting Decks, but only if you want things really well done so your deck will last... up to you, I suppose. 😁 Lyman Jessop, Highland Hills Builders LLC"

"I was very impressed with Bob Taylor. He stopped by to visit and explain how to build a platform for a gazebo. He was very professional and well versed in his trade. I told him that we couldn't do a platform until next year. A friend had wanted to build it for me, but he explained why I really needed a contractor professional to do the work because the digging and supports required more knowledge and understanding than just leveling the ground. He had a portfolio of work he has done, and explained everything really well. He was fast to give me a quote, which was very fair. I wrote back stating I would contact him next year, and thanked him for the time he took to explain the process of building a deck platform that would not settle or sink. He was a pleasure to talk too, and I am confident I will be contacting him next year to do the job."

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Professionals ensure safe, thorough repairs using quality materials, extending the life of your structure.

Porticos last 25 to 60 years, depending on the material used. A portico’s roof typically matches the roof of the rest of the home and can be replaced simultaneously. Portico columns have a similar life span if properly maintained and regularly sealed. In some areas, harsh weather and extreme temperatures may cause a portico to wear more quickly.

Common materials include wood, vinyl, and metal. Wood offers a classic look, while vinyl and metal are low-maintenance options.

For many people, a gazebo is worth it, but it’s a matter of personal preference. If you love spending time outside but your yard doesn’t offer much protection from the sun or rain, then adding a gazebo might be worthwhile. Or, if you enjoy hosting dinner parties and want a nice outdoor space to gather with your friends, a gazebo could be a good investment.

Log cabins are relatively difficult to maintain compared to a traditional house. That’s because log cabins require regular upkeep and care that can include refinishing and corncob blasting, a process similar to sandblasting that shoots ground-up corncob with compressed air.
