"John David remodeled our dining room. From the drywall to the custom cabinets he was professional, upfront, and honest. He was more than able to bring our thoughts and ideas into reality to help us create our new home. I can't say enough about his enthusiasm and commitment to getting the job accomplished the way we envisioned and in a timely manner."

"Gary & his crew were very professional & hard working. My husband & I were thoroughly pleased with all of the services he provided. He was willing to pick up the mulch for us, pull our weeds out of 3 flower beds, pulled the weeds from under our river rocks surrounding the gardens, & pulled up some flower bushes that were damaged from the winter. Nice clean up work & he even hauled off the debri! He’s worth every penny! Other lawn services required a minimum job of $1200 or more but we didn’t need that much work done. I highly recommend Gary’s services & would definitely hire him again in the future. Thanks for being awesome Gary!"

"I never contacted the provider or used this service in anyway. I have to

The rating is bogus as it is required to be able to submit.

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

Wooden soffits, when properly cared for, can last between 10 and 25 years, depending on the type of wood and the climate you live in. Certain wood types will last longer than others, and you might want to consider the cost of replacing soffits when you break down the total project cost. While an initially higher-priced material might seem counterintuitive, it can make more financial sense if you don’t plan on moving.

If you’re just replacing a few broken or damaged joists, you can expect to pay anywhere from $100 to $300 per joist. However, a complete installation for a home or room will take into account the cost of labor, which ranges from $25 to $40 per hour. Floor joist installation for an entire room, for example, can cost between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on the room's size and the materials used.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

Landscape timbers can last 10 to 20 years in the ground when installed correctly. Pressure-treated timbers will last longer than non-treated ones, as pressure treatment makes the wood more rot-resistant. Wood exposed to high moisture levels or extreme temperature and weather fluctuations may not last as long as wood in drier areas with more consistent weather.

The boards between floor joists are called bridging or blocking boards. These are the shortest pieces of wood in the flooring system—with beams being the longest and joists sitting somewhere in the middle—and they serve to reinforce the joists and help provide even support to the flooring above. Bridging specifically helps cut down on uneven and creaking floors in your living area.
