"We hired Jon McCoy because of the outstanding work he did at my son's home. We had a leak in our back porch ceiling and discovered it was coming from our chimney. Since we had to replace the ceiling, we decided to replace it with vinyl siding. We also decided to have vinyl siding put up on our front porch ceiling. The work was excellent and was finished on time. Jon McCoy is a man of his word. He returns calls promptly and always arrives on time. His work is excellent, and we will continue to use him in the future. I would recommend him to anyone."

"I was very pleased with the services that were provided. The cost I thought was very affordable. They were punctual, professional, and most of all they cleaned up behind themselves. My floor looks great and you can't even tell the repairs were done.I would most definitely recommend them and will be using them again for any future projects.

",It went great! Very professional and knowledgeable. These folks know what they're doing. They did everything that had to be done and never tried to "squeeze" me for "added-cost-options". They also cleaned all light fixtures and changed bulbs where necessary. I am disabled and cannot do most of these things myself, so it was great that they did all these extra things for me. I would highly recommend Squeaky Clean to everyone, you won't be disappointed!

"It couldn't have gone more fabulously.  Tony guided us through the process of picking out everything we needed and stayed within budget.  He brought in the tile guy and the granite fabricator - all were wonderful to work with.  Everyone was very professional, they showed up when they said they would be there and the job was completed on schedule.  We were thrilled with the results and would definitely contact Mills Family Properties for our next home renovation project!"

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Priming a popcorn ceiling before painting is a good idea, especially if the ceiling is stained, discolored, or has never been painted. Interior paint primer helps seal the surface, preventing stains from bleeding through and allowing the paint to adhere better. Use a stain-blocking, water-based primer for best results.

Yes. Sagging ceilings often indicate more severe problems, such as structural damage, roof leaks, and pest infestations. As the sagging expands, your ceiling may eventually collapse, posing a threat to your physical safety and leading to expensive repair and restoration costs. That’s why you need to fix sagging ceilings as soon as you notice them.

Because of the nature of the texture, it's common for the popcorn texture to loosen while painting. Popcorn ceilings are delicate, and using a heavy hand with a roller or applying overly wet paint can loosen the texture. To avoid a mess, handle the material gently with a roller or brush. It's also smart to test a small area first, and if the texture starts coming off, the ceiling may need repairs or sealing before painting.

The easiest way to remove texture from walls is the soak-and-scrape method. You’ll need to spray a section of the wall with water and let the water soak in and soften the texture. Then, you need to scrape the texture off using a drywall taping knife. This method works best with unpainted walls since paint prevents water from saturating the textured joint compound.

Smooth ceilings create a modern, clean look that helps brighten rooms by reflecting light, making spaces feel more open. They're easy to paint and maintain but can show imperfections. Textured ceilings add character and hide flaws like cracks or uneven drywall. With a range of patterns, you can opt for a subtle texture or something more decorative. The choice between smooth and textured ceilings comes down to your personal style and the look you want for your space.
