"We had a clogged line and called Brumbley at 2:30 in the afternoon. They showed up at 3:45 and went straight to work snaking the drain through the clean out. It took a little determination, but the situation was rendered. While they were here, they fixed the p trap under my kitchen sink (which I did but not properly), and we haven?t had any issues since. It?s been over 8 months, and all is well. I would highly recommend them. Good service, good prices, and quality workmanship!"

"Derek worked alone on this project and did a great job. He is very knowledgeable. He replaced fixtures in my shower and replaced a sink faucet in my Mom's bathroom. The job took 2.5 hours and everything is working like it should. I would recommend him for any plumbing related project."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The spin cycle on your washer should initiate draining, but if you still find leftover water in the washing machine tub, you may need to drain it manually. To manually drain a washing machine, you’ll need to turn off the power supply and locate the drain hose, filter, and pump. Open or disconnect these parts and let the water drain into a bucket.

No, you should not see water in a sewer cleanout. If you do, it could indicate that you have a block or leak in your main sewer line—which can cause sewage to back up inside your home and potentially flood your yard. Your best bet is to call a local sewer cleaner if you notice any water or sewage around your cleanout.

To unclog a plumbing vent, you first need to locate it. Look at your home's roofline. The plumbing vent will be a vertical pipe sticking straight up from the roof. Since this pipe runs all the way to the main drain underneath your house, you should also be able to find it in the attic.

Septic tanks can clog if they aren’t pumped every few years since solid waste accumulates inside of them. Your tank might also clog if you have a habit of flushing anything other than human waste or toilet paper. Items like diapers, baby wipes, paper towels, cat litter, and personal hygiene products should never go down your pipes.

Start by pouring hot—but not boiling—water down the drain. The heat of the water may be enough to break down the clog. You can also try ½ cup of dish soap or 1 cup each of white vinegar and baking soda. If you choose a chemical unclogging product, ensure it’s appropriate for toilets to avoid damage.
