"My husband and I are having our home built for our property and need a Septic Tank installed.  This will be our first experience with such a system as we have always lived within city limits that provided City Sewer Service.  I found Jerry Thigpen Septic Tank Svc in an online search.  I called and left a message on the answering machine at noon and received a call back within 35 minutes.  Spoke to Mr and Mrs Thigpen, they both were very professional and pleasant to speak to.  Very informative as to what steps we need to do before he can give us an estimate for a new system.  Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Thigpen we look forward to doing business with you.
Will do a reveiw followup once services are rendered.

Foundation Drainage - Install or Replace

Serving Morton, MS and surrounding areas

"I have worked with many companies for many years, Davis Foundation of MS, LLC is one of the top company. They were easy to worked with. They know what they were doing. The owner and his crew came on a Saturday ( Owners Day off) to do the job. They spent all day making sure that the job was done to my satisfaction. They even helped me out with my rain gutter to avoid problems to my foundation. They did a very good cleaned up after themselves, The job was under warranty, so it was free of charge."

"It went fine.  I had one situation where they put vent on the top of the roof but on backwards and they replaced it. Overall, they did a good job cleaning it but that was a little reckless, I thought, a little careless. They did a good job cleaning the lint out but the only problem I had was the way they put the vent back on. "

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

A sump pump's lifespan is typically 7 to 10 years, though the general range can be anywhere from 5 to 15 years. The specific type of pump is a major factor: pedestal sump pumps last an average of 20 to 25 years, whereas submersible sump pumps last between 5 and 15 years. While pedestal pumps are less expensive to service, they are also louder and more prone to clogging.

Several other factors influence longevity, including the pump's quality, usage frequency, and maintenance schedule. A high-quality pump that is well-maintained in a dry climate may last for two decades, while a lower-quality, poorly maintained pump in an area with a high water table or frequent flooding may fail in six years or less.

Regular maintenance, including annual inspections and tuneups from a professional, can significantly extend the pump's life. It is time to consider a replacement if your sump pump runs constantly, cycles frequently, shows visible rust or corrosion, or trips a circuit breaker. As a preventative measure, many homeowners replace their pumps every eight years. It's also worth noting that a manufacturer's warranty can indicate expected lifespan, and some home insurance policies may not cover water damage from a pump that is past its recommended replacement date.

Your sump pump will discharge water through a discharge line or pipe. The discharge line should be placed at least 10–20 feet from the foundation to avoid any issues.

The cost of basement waterproofing is $4,950 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying between $600 and $14,000, depending on factors like basement size, waterproofing method, and the region you live in.

If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you might be paying more for waterproofing than if you lived somewhere drier since waterproofing contractors would be in high demand. Likewise, a 500-foot basement costs between $2,500 and $5,000 to waterproof, but that price rises significantly for a larger basement.

The cost of installing landscape drainage with the help of a professional can vary widely depending on factors like the scope of the project, your location, and the specific services needed. Smaller tasks, such as installing a French drain, may range from $10 to $50 per linear foot, while more extensive projects like installing a catch basin can cost several thousand dollars to tens of thousands. Obtaining multiple quotes from qualified professionals is recommended to get a precise estimate for your specific drainage issue.

Several factors can impact the cost of waterproofing your basement. Some of the most common cost factors include:

  • Location

  • Square footage

  • Cause of the water leak

  • Type of foundation

  • Accessibility

  • Waterproofing method

  • Materials

  • Contractor experience and availability

  • Engineering reports, if needed

  • Structural and other repairs

  • Permits
