"My concrete driveway was damaged and leaning on one side and needed to be broke up & replaced. I was looking for a concrete contractor that I could trust to do a good job at a competitive price and found one with Brandon. He did everything we agreed on and more. Brandon is very responsive and takes great pride and joy in doing a good job right the first time. Me and my wife are very pleased with the finished work, his friendliness, and his professionalism. He isn't happy until you're happy and we highly recommend him for any concrete needs."

"C. Mason Concrete did an awesome job forming, pouring, and finishing my slab. Chris and his crew are very professional, detail-oriented, and ensured the job was done right. I have used 2 other contractors in the past, but I will call C. Mason Concrete from now on."

"The salesman was very nice and on the ball. The trouble was getting the work done. It was very confusing as well, too many different people seemed to be in charge of getting the work done. They made all kinds of appointments with me and they didn't contact me a couple of times when they'd set appts. and did not show up. One of these no-shows was for actually doing the patio! They said they were very busy because they were on Home Advisor and I understood that, but after a month and a half and no patio, I decided to go with someone else."

"Donnell saved my house! I have been battling a major erosion problem for years. My house sits on the side of a shifting, sandy hill, and the whole hillside is eroding away. Engineering evaluation suggested installing a large patio. Thus, I needed a creative concrete company that could place a very large patio on the side of a sandy, shifting hill. To add to the challenge, the process had to be done manually as my wooded lot precluded the use of heavy equipment. Due to these challenges, a number of large vendors declined to bid. Not Donnell. He acknowledged these challenges, but felt certain his knowledge and 30 years of experience could overcome them. And overcome them he did. Using enormous physical labor, every framing trick in the books, and some he created on his own just for this job, he managed to perch a 50 ton concrete patio on the side of a hill of shifting sand, and, in so doing, stabilized the entire hill. Done within the projected time frame and under budget."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

A slurry of cement, sand, and water is injected beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize it.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.
