"Beacon came out, did an assessment and provided a quote for a generator based on my power consumption. They also provided recommendations based on my current setup ( pointed out things that were not up to code) and possible fix actions. Installation took 1 day and looked very professional. Follow up for the 1st year is part of the installation also. Overall, a great experience. Rated value a little lower simply because your paying a lot of money for something that may never be needed, but it's always nice to know it's there."

"O.G. Electric is worthy of your trust. Jason is a no-nonsense guy who works hard for customer satisfaction. I hired him to do some troubleshooting and to install dedicated switched circuit for a new garbage disposal installation. I felt the service was well-worth the price. I plan to have Jason's shop come back to wire a new shop building and to install some security lights as well. I know I'll get another great job."

"Jaye was the ultimate professional. He arrived on time and completed my installation with care. He also hid the wires which made the installation look perfect. I use Technical Installs and Repair for all of my tv mounting needs as well as recessed lights, smart outlet and smart light switch installation. I love that Jaye is a licensed electrician because that assures me that the job is done right! I recommend this company to all of my friends, family and customers."

We specialize in lamp repair and restoration. Within reason, Junior can pretty much repair any kind of lamp. In addition to selling and servicing our products, Guice Electric installs home wiring systems. Our company also offers electrical consulting at competitive pricing. Generator Install questions, answered by experts

While the rating will tell you how many watts the refrigerator needs at the peak of its cycle, it requires additional wattage to start. At the bare minimum, you’ll need a 1,500-watt generator to get the fridge up and running after a blackout. A 2,000-watt generator should be sufficient for most home refrigerators.

Costs range from $500 to $2,500, depending on generator type and installation complexity.

Yes, in most municipalities, you will need a permit to install a permanent home generator, including emergency backup, partial-home, and whole-home models. Because these installations involve significant alterations to your home's electrical system and produce exhaust fumes, local governments often require a permit or inspection for safety purposes. A generator permit typically costs between $50 and $250, depending on your location. Your electrician or certified installer can usually handle the permitting process for you, but you will be responsible for the cost. It's a good practice to confirm with your installer that they will pull all necessary permits before work begins.

While natural gas generators are costly, they’re a great option for standby power due to the reliability of natural gas as a fuel source. Unlike other fuels, natural gas is delivered through underground pipes, making outages extremely rare and less likely to be affected by the elements. As long as the area isn’t prone to earthquakes, they offer an unlimited supply of natural gas that doesn’t degrade over time or require storage in tanks.

Generators run on a variety of fuel types, ranging from natural gas to solar power. Keep in mind that fuel costs varying by type:

  • Natural gas: $2,000–$21,000 per year

  • Liquid propane: $2,000–$21,000 per year

  • Diesel: $3,000–$20,000 per year

  • Gasoline: $500–$3,000 per year

  • Solar generator: $2,000–$25,000 per unit

  • Battery backup: $10,000–$25,000 per unit
