We then called Ball Heating and Air to diagnose our system. This serviceman only charged us $85.60 for the call but told us we didn't need a new system because he detected no leak in the coils; all we needed was a recharge at $93 for the first pound and $53 for each additional pound, according to him. He estimated we would require about 10 pounds to recharge the system for a total of $570. With now conflicting diagnoses, we decided to get a third. A friend at work recommended an HVAC service he used (don't remember the name and were since absorbed by Ball Heating and Air of Biloxi, MS). This serviceman also told us we needed a new heat pump system, but we could wait until Spring when temperature started to get warm and use the emergency heat when we needed it during the winter. He did warn us our electric bill would jump using the heat strips and emergency heat. Luckly it was a very mild winter so very little need for heat or cooling. Fast forward to May 2013 when temperatures finally began to over power our suffering air conditioning. Realizing we needed to pull the trigger on a new system we called Ball Heating and Air to get an estimate on a new system (yes, the company that told us we didn't need a new system). Not only was the Ball estimate $2,000 more than any other estimate we received (One Hour Air offered to honor their November estimate), the Ball product line consisted of Lennox which didn't receive very good online reviews. We decided to get one more estimate for a new system and called Air Tech of Waveland. Phyllis, who runs the office, was very polite and professional and scheduled a visit the next afternoon. Skip arrived about 20 minutes late but was very professional, friendly, and knowledgable. The first thing he did was to see if we might be able to just replace the coils (something nobody else even mentioned). Unfortunately, with an R-22 system and a 3.5 ton outside unit with a 4 ton air handler (really??? How did that happen), he said he wouldn't be able to match the units so we'd need a new system. Skip then took about an hour to explain all the strengths and limitations of the units he carried (York and Maytag) and promised an estimate the next day. Before noon the next day we had an estimate in hand which included a York 4 ton 15 SEER, a York 4 ton 18 SEER, and a Maytag 4 ton 16 SEER. The best thing about his estimates is he beat every competing offer (especially Ball Heating and Air who he beat by over $5,500!!!). My wife and I were both impressed with Skip so decided to schedule an intall date. We waited only 30 minutes before receiving a call from Phyllis who said we could have it installed on 5 June. She emphasized since it was so warm Skip liked to begin early, between 0730 and 0800). Skip, Phyllis, and Damon arrived 5 June promptly and worked through grueling 90 degree heat (about 120 in the attic) and complete the full installation in less than 6 hours. It was 89 in the house when they fired up the new heat pump and in just an hour the inside temperature reduced to 79, and just one more hour to decrease the temperature of our 2,280 square foot house with 12' ceilings to a very comfortable 75 degrees. He also installed a Wi-Fi connected thermostat we can adjust from any computer or wireless device. The Maytag outside unit is very quiet and the air handler in the attic is even more quiet. Overall we are very pleased with the heat pump system and very glad we chose Air Tech of Waveland (Skip and Phyllis). They came out within 20 minutes of me calling and installed a new water heater.
First review was written soon after service and I should update on what occurred later: The connection to a radiant heating system connected to this water heater was leaking into the pan under the unit . This is in an attic and out of sight, so it was some time before I discovered this. Once again, the plumber came soon after my call and corrected the problem, but it was disturbing because that was the connection that prompted me to call the plumber in the first place.
I believe that when a hot water heater is drained, the client should be asked before releasing 50 gallons of hot water onto the property, because it may need to be redirected to another location that will cause no problem.
They were to return to repair a faucet, but were never heard from again

This story begins November 2012 when we noticed our heat was not working. We called One Hour Air of Bay St. Louis, MS and the serviceman rapidly racked up a $241.82 (included a leak check for $127 which consisted of waving a wand under the coil) service call and then proceeded to provide 3...

FAQs for heating oil service projects in Gulf Hills, MS
To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
