"Schedule to do the work at noon on Saturday. Did call at 11:00 a.m. because they had a tire blowout and let me know he would be a couple hours late. But they did show up when they said they would. Tree was trimmed excellently. Just what I wanted. All of the haul away was done. Yard was cleaned up exactly the way it looked before arrival. Could not be happier. Are planning on having them back to trim another tree."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

In Sedalia, watch for unusual signs like gutters pulling away from the roof after heavy snow removal, or water seeping into your basement due to improper driveway clearing. If you notice uneven heating, check for blocked HVAC vents from snow piles. Also, be alert for flickering lights or tripped breakers, which can signal moisture near electrical systems from melting snow.

Helpful?

In Sedalia, remove snow right away if it’s blocking your driveway, covering sidewalks, or creating slippery steps—especially after storms with wind-driven drifts. If snow is light and not obstructing access, you can wait, but keep an eye on overnight temperature drops that can turn slush into hazardous ice, especially on shaded walkways and sloped driveways.

Helpful?

In Sedalia, use pet-safe ice melt on walkways and avoid piling snow against fences or foundation walls to prevent water damage. Wear sturdy, slip-resistant boots and take frequent breaks to avoid overexertion, especially when clearing heavy, wet snow. Stay clear of roof edges when removing icicles, and always check for hidden obstacles like garden edging under deep snow before using a snow blower.

Helpful?

In Sedalia, it’s time to schedule snow removal when snow is forecasted to exceed 3 inches or if you notice ice forming on your driveway or porch steps. Plan ahead if you have north-facing sidewalks, as these stay icy longer. If you see water pooling near your foundation after a thaw, arrange for prompt snow clearing to prevent seepage and foundation issues.

Helpful?

In Sedalia, snow removal is busiest from December through February, when frequent snowfalls and rapid temperature changes lead to icy driveways and sidewalks. January often brings the heaviest accumulation, making regular clearing essential for safe access. The city’s mix of older homes and hilly streets means timely snow removal is especially important to prevent slips and maintain curb appeal during winter.
