"Everttime my furnace would kick on a foul oder would circulate through my home, which I identified as a dead mouse. I inspected and vacumed ,to the extent I was able, each register. I was unable to locate a decaying carcus. My heating and A/C service referred me to Ernest Airduct & Dryer Vent. I hired them to clean and sanitize my duct work throughout my home. I am very pleased to report, that the order is gone. Both their customer sevice and job skill was excellent."

"Our overall experience with Honest Abes for our HVAC replacement went quite well. Equipment, techs, timing was all 5 star. My 4 star rating is for the contractor not providing the manufacturers warranty info. Honest Abes provided thier warranty but l wanted all the warranty info. I went to Goodmans site, entered all serial numbers and received all my data related to our HVAC system. It even list the built date of each item. If Honest Abes starts leaving the manufacturers warratny with their installs, l believe most customers would be more satisfied."

"Tuesday, February 7, 2023, CW (Charles Waterman) of Commercial Home Services In Camdenton Missouri, installed a new thermostat for the furnace in my house in Eldon Missouri. After he had left the thermostat wasnâ t working correctly, so I called him the next day to see if he could return and take a look at it. Over the next few days I contacted him several times. Apparently he had a very busy week, but first thing Monday morning February 13, 2023 he called me back and said that he would go by the house that morning and take a look at the thermostat. He found the thermostat was working but the furnace had several problems which he informed me would be fairly expensive to repair. I have decided to replace the furnace which is over 30 years old with a heat pump. Charles has been courteous and very helpful. I appreciate what heâ s done for us and would recommend him."

Im very respectful and responsible. I love cleaning and I've been doing it since I could remember. I have OCD so that helps but over all I'm good at what I do. I come in and clean and get it done and go. I'm fast at what I do. I love helping others. your home will be spot less and smelling like a new home.

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

AC capacitors have a wide lifespan, ranging from five to 20 years, with an average of about 10 years. Many capacitors will last for the entire life of the air conditioning unit, and most homeowners only need to replace one once. A capacitor should only be replaced if an HVAC professional diagnoses a problem with it. Premature failure can be caused by overheating, power surges, or short circuits. You can help extend the life of your AC capacitor by scheduling regular AC maintenance each year.

AC evaporator coils should be cleaned at least once per year to keep your unit in good condition. For optimal performance, consider cleaning them twice a year—once before and once after the main cooling season. More frequent cleanings may be necessary for older systems, units with performance issues, or those in climates with high levels of humidity, dust, and dirt.

Deciding whether to replace just the AC coil or the entire system depends on the age of your unit and the overall cost. Replacing a coil is less expensive than a full system replacement, but it can still be a pricey repair. If your HVAC system is relatively new and still under warranty, or if the replacement cost is significantly lower than a new system, replacing the coil can be a worthwhile investment that restores efficiency and extends the unit's life. However, for older systems (nearing the end of their 10-15 year lifespan) or those with extensive damage, it is often more cost-effective to replace the entire AC unit. Mismatched coils in an older system can lead to inefficiency and future breakdowns, so a full replacement ensures optimal performance and avoids further costly repairs.

Though it may seem redundant, you can absolutely have a central AC unit and a window AC in your home. In fact, if you place a window AC unit near your central air, it can help move the cooler air throughout your home. But doubling up on your AC methods can get pricey, so factor in cost accordingly.

There are a few ways to determine if a vent is open or closed. You can inspect the vent and examine the position of the fins. If there are spaces between them, the vent is open. If the fins are flat and touching, the vent is closed. You can also stand under the vent when the system is running to see if you feel air flowing through it.
