I know, "you get what you pay for" but there are lots of things to fix in this house so I have to stretch the budget. They convinced me the quality of paint they selected was just fine, and it was. They did everything as agreed, and it turned out great. They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

"Randolph Development (D&D Cabinetry) were perhaps the best part of our entire new home construction. Dan and Danielle Randolph were able to see the vision that we had for our home and they gave creative input that made for a very unique set of custom cabinets! They operate with the utmost attention to detail--we are so pleased with the work they've done for us! Not only did they build the cabinets that we wanted, they also took on some "unfinished" projects that we needed for our new home--fixing a set of antique corbels that we wanted to use on our covered back porch, they also converted an antique fireplace mantel into a beautiful built-in book case that is in the center of our home. We have enjoyed every moment of our involvement with this company...so much so, that we have added a few more jobs to their work list! The best exterior paint type to use on a stone house is an acrylic latex, preferably a semi-gloss or eggshell, as it is durable and easy to clean. Not only is it easy to work with and readily available in a multitude of colors, acrylic latex paint is also one of the best choices for an eco-, kid-, and pet-friendly paint.

You can avoid brush marks when painting your front door by painting the door off the hinges and then going over the door with a dry roller after using a paintbrush to smooth out any rough edges. You also want to avoid overloading your paintbrush with paint, as this can create an oversaturated surface where wet paint has nowhere to go.

There are times when you should remove all exterior paint before repainting. This includes when you need to get rid of lead-based paint (which should be done by a pro), or if you need to apply a different finish than what’s already there. Your house may also have too many pre-existing layers of old paint, in which case you’ll be better off getting rid of the old layers first.

You should let your initial paint job dry at least 12 hours before opening the door. Check your work after 12 hours have passed to confirm there are no uneven patches, or signs of the old paint showing though—if you see any, we recommend applying a second coat of paint and waiting an additional 12 hours for it to dry. 

Painting over cracks without repairing them first will simply lead to needing to fix them later. They will reappear in short order. Usually, just a bit of spackle and a putty knife before painting will do the trick. However, if there are significant cracks, find the source of the problem and fix it before moving forward.
