They dumped all the concrete they removed in the backyard without asking and left an enormous hole in the front of the house where the fireplace is. When I (5'1" femme) asked to speak to a supervisor about the delay and dumping, they sent a good old boy (300 pds, 6'2") to scream at me in my living room. No supervisor was present to verify the work and I was not permitted to watch them. They pressured me to sign the inspection form, without me inspecting anything. They are a SCAMMMM! I would only recommend Olshan as revenge."

These types of couplings tighten with a wrench or by hand. If you’re looking for a temporary solution that doesn’t require soldering, you can use epoxy putty or adhesive tape.

Start by unscrewing the overflow valve, which is located on the wall of your tub between the floor drain and the tub spout. Gently insert a plumbing snake down into the pipe, move it back and forth, and pull it out. Remove any hair, debris, and soap scum that comes out with it. Repeat the process until the snake comes out clean, and then reinstall the cap on your overflow valve.

Your baseboard heater usually should have a bleeder valve, but if not, look for air vents that bleed out the air automatically. If you cannot locate the bleeder valve on your radiator and it doesn’t feel warm even when the heat is turned on, call in a pro to have it inspected.

Once the outside weather drops below 32 degrees, your pipes are at risk of freezing. Adjusting—or lowering—the thermostat is a common practice before going to bed or when leaving the house. If you want to keep your pipes from freezing, keep the thermostat set at no less than 55 degrees (so long as temperatures are below freezing).
